day 2 i am the law

Posted March 6, 2013 by Helius

Tonight, MM9 heard a minor explosion which resulted in a loss of power and the internet. Before MM9 could react a SWAT team blew open the front door and knocked out MM9. MM9 was then transported to a secret facility where the FBI Agent resided.

FBI Agent: “Good evening, MM9.”
MM9: Why didn't you just... kill me?
FBI Agent: You don't fear death... You welcome it. Your punishment must be more severe.
MM9: Torture?
FBI Agent: Yes. But not of your body... Of your soul.
MM9: Where am I?
FBI Agent: Home, where I learned the truth about despair, as will you. There's a reason why this prison is the worst hell on earth... We will destroy the Mafia and then, when it is done and the Mafia is ash, then you have my permission to die.
MM9: But I’m not Mafia!
FBI Agent: We shall see… We shall see…
FBI Agent: Your sentence: Guilty.
MM9: YOUR BETRAYING THE LAW!
FBI Agent: I AM THE LAW!
(FBI Agent kicks MM9 into a pit prison)

And with that MM9, Townie, was arrested by the FBI Agent and would never see the light of day again (unless MM9 becomes the Batman… it’s possible). Right before, MM9 was kicked into the well, the towns folk heard this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P9bakJLAevo
The swat was still in the process of securing the house after MM9 and the FBI Agent left when the Mafia came by to pick MM9 up oddly enough. This began a turf war with SWAT team members having bits of brain and blood splattering against the walls of the house. The Godfather fought hardest of all shooting people’s kneecaps out and then giving them a double-tap in the head. ”Make sure they are good and dead, boys…” The Mafia members were only happy to oblige. They went through the house with machetes. They would do various things such as stabbing people in the chest, hacking off heads for trophies, hacking limb from limb, skinning the ones alive who caused the most noise, and so forth.

The town people had heard the explosion and lost connection with MM9 during their night Skype date. They decided to go outside of their houses with laptops in hand to see what was going on at MM9’s house, but unfortunately that’s as far as they went. When they heard the moans of injured SWAT members, they went inside and locked the door fearful of them being next. Least they had each other…

There were other people missing from the Skype call because lurking in the dark alley ways of Lancerville was the Psychiatrist. He had searched long and hard using his powers of psycho-analysis to determine who the Insane person was. He knocked on their doors and let himself in. This is particularly dangerous when dealing with an Insane person, but our Psychiatrist has some cahoonas. They spoke briefly and the person was cured.

The town woke up to the next morning to find MM9 missing and a bunch of SWAT members looking like ground beef.

I will wait until the Journalist's article is released before making a vote, though I am still looking at Cas.

March 6, 2013
`Roxas`

Eh, that actually worked out better for us than it could have. Lucky the the mafia and FBI targeted the same person, or we'd be down two people this round.

March 6, 2013
Count Dooku

I'll say. I'm actually surprised - I thought for sure the FBI was going to target Cas.

Since my role has served it's purpose, I'll declare now that I am the psychiatrist and I have cured the town cop of his ailments.

I'm also freely prescribing anti-depressants at the moment so feel free to stop by. Unless you're mafia, in which case please visit someone else.

March 6, 2013
Redack

In fact, I heard there's an old hermit that lives out in the mountains... Could all mafia please visit him...

March 6, 2013
Redack

Just in case anyone were to ask...

Ratio: 1042

And 5 votes for any person gets the Executioner rolling unless the Governor stops him.

March 6, 2013
Helius

Also I'd like to request we lynch Castrael now please.

I know she isn't the cop (since I cured them), I know she isn't the psychiatrist (since I am) and I'm confident she's not the FBI Agent.

This leaves only Mafia or Journalist and I don't believe if she was the Journalist she would come up with a move like incriminating herself via the journalist entry to hide her role... Therefore all that's logically left is Mafia.

Trust me on this... And watch me die in Night 2...

March 6, 2013
Redack

and I'm confident she's not the FBI Agent.

By which I mean I'm very confident I know who it is.

March 6, 2013
Redack

While that seems like more than enough to vote, I'd still like to wait and see what the Journalist has to give us. You know, in case they gave us anything extra (ie, another Mafia member).

And 5 votes for any person gets the Executioner rolling unless the Governor stops him.

Shouldn't it still be 6 because of the 16 non-jailed/living players?

March 6, 2013
`Roxas`

In fact, I just realised... FBI Agent wouldn't be able to move Night 0 so she couldn't be the FBI Agent...

All this leaves is her being a Mafia member.

March 6, 2013
Redack

It was six last round because I didn't take into consideration the third party roles.

But I guess it can be six again.

March 6, 2013
Helius

Come to think of it, Cas's posts were pretty sketchy last day-round...

March 6, 2013
Black Yoshi

Since my role has served it's purpose, I'll declare now that I am the psychiatrist and I have cured the town cop of his ailments

Redack knows whos the cop is as he just cured him. If he wants to lynch cas, that means she's not the cop. He's the psych, so she cant be the psych. Most likely not the journalist. So let's go ahead n

CtR Black

I really don't get why you lot think I'm Mafia. I'm actually pretty sad that MM9 is gone. Notice how I haven't lynched anyone? I've been good so far, haven't I? MM9, the Town needs him for.

And just think, when I attacked Yoshi last round and when Chief knew that he was Mafia and I'll bet you anything he's Mafia again. He's been Mafia for the past several games. His game play hasn't changed since.

Also, Red, my good friend from I dunno how long, I'm rather disappointed that you think Im Mafia. I mean, yea maybe I am Mafia, but If I were Mafia, I would've immediately gone after you and Dooku. Would I not?

March 6, 2013
Castrael

Just because you haven't voted anyone off doesn't mean you're not Mafia -- it just means you've been playing under the radar, like I did in my first few games when I was Mafia.

And last game was only the second game I've played in a while, and the first one I was Mafia in -- the game before that I was a Townie and Hezy offed me in the first round. Prior to that, the last game I played was in August, and then I took a leave of absence to focus on my studies, especially since I had one of those professors who doesn't care if you have other classes aside from theirs.

March 6, 2013
Black Yoshi

Probably Cas, and I think we can fully trust Redack unless someone else claims Psych (which if he's lying they should). And his reasoning is usually sound.

FBI Agent should be more careful, I was suspicious of MM9 too but that was way too quick.

March 6, 2013
White Thunder

With the amount of indisputable evidence against her, my vote will be for Cas. If she's innocent, we lycnh Redack tomorrow.

March 6, 2013
`Roxas`

Um, correct me if I am wrong, but since no deaths can occur on night 0, isn't it safe to say that the Mafia would NOT have been out and about?

Oh, and Cas is NOT the Journalist. I am 100% confident of that.

Something isn't adding up. I would say Red is Mafia and lying, but if that were the case, the real Psyc would have come forward by now. Someone please point out my obvious oversite...

March 6, 2013
Feral

Redack's suspicions are always spot-on anyway. I have no reason to believe he's faking his role claim this early on in the game.

March 6, 2013
Jo Nathan

I DO NOT have a special role. I am your vanilla typical Townie. That's my role-claim.

March 6, 2013
Castrael

You guys do know that the vote count has reached a point where the Executioner can lock in the kill.

Even if Cas is guilty, we should decided that not the Executioner by keeping our lynch votes one vote below what he needs.

March 6, 2013
chiefsonny

Actually, take a look at Night 0. The Journalist is right. I did sneak out and I wanted to sneak out again tonight, just for the hell of it, but I didn't. But, I'm putting my cards down and removing my poker face tonight and letting whatever happens, happens. I don't mind at this point.

March 6, 2013
Castrael

The Mafia still technically gathers because they have a Night role. They just can't kill anyone.

March 6, 2013
Helius

Think of it as a strategy meeting.

March 6, 2013
Helius

Helius, can a townie "sneak out" and be seen by the Journalist?

March 6, 2013
Feral

There is no sneaking out because there is no Night Action for a Townie. You guys stay in your homes unless you have a role other than Townie.

The only possible way someone could claim that they snuck out as a Townie would be if they cheated... and we all know where that goes.

March 6, 2013
Helius

And to let you know I'll be letting the round go a full 24 hours even though we have six votes for one person... not everyone has had the opportunity to check in and in the interest of fairness, I believe a full 24 hours is at least warranted.

March 6, 2013
Helius

I hate to do this, but I'm voting Yoshi out. The fact that he has been Mafia for the longest time ever, I'm questioning him and the same with Nathan. Yoshi, however, knows how to hide him self very well. If I were to surrender my self, I would, right now. But, that's like giving up. With Yoshi, he likes to back up his tracks and placed his blaims on someone else. So, that someone else could get lynched and not him.

March 6, 2013
Castrael

I'm only making a suggestion. I don't know why I a vote.

March 6, 2013
Castrael

And to let you know I'll be letting the round go a full 24 hours even though we have six votes for one person

I have no problem with that but we do need to clear this up.
If I understand the roles right. If the Executioner has locked in his/her vote, and we continue to vote for people then we could end up losing 2 people?

Executioner - The Executioner is a mafia-sided role. If a person, at any time during the day round, receives 1/3 of the total possible votes, the Executioner may elect to kill that person in addition to the person that is lynched. At least 1 vote must be from a non-mafia member.

March 6, 2013
chiefsonny

And with 16 players still eligible to vote that could happen. And we can not afford to lose people at that pace.

March 6, 2013
chiefsonny

That would be correct. We are pretty close to having enough to lynch with Cas having 6 votes which is also the amount that is needed to Execute.

March 6, 2013
Helius

Which leads to me being dead anyway.

March 6, 2013
Castrael

Cas just sealed her fate by trying to tell us she is a regular townie when the journalist told us she left her room during night 1. So, yeah. Looks like her fate was sealed anyway.

March 6, 2013
Vandy

Ah damn, I just realized my vote was the sixth. I forgot that Helius changed it from five to six...

Gawd, if the executioner kills her, feel free to put me out of my misery.

March 6, 2013
Jo Nathan

You can still change it, Nath >< I think, right, Helius?

March 6, 2013
Castrael

Well, technically, yes, Jo can still change it.

If the executioner is on and says Cas has to go though before the vote is changed, then it's too late.

March 6, 2013
Helius

Um, correct me if I am wrong, but since no deaths can occur on night 0, isn't it safe to say that the Mafia would NOT have been out and about?

Very valid point.

March 6, 2013
`Roxas`

If someone else will change their vote with me, I'll follow suit. Honestly, though, I don't see that happening. It seems the majority is confident that Cas is Mafia, and I'm fairly confident as well.

March 6, 2013
Jo Nathan

Also, Red, my good friend from I dunno how long, I'm rather disappointed that you think Im Mafia. I mean, yea maybe I am Mafia, but If I were Mafia, I would've immediately gone after you and Dooku. Would I not?

Don't try that sympathy thing with me, it might work on Dooku but I'm not falling for it {;)} and also if you were mafia and voted for me, there's still three other mafia who didn't... I'd guess Majora died first since he's generally considered a strong player, it's generally a curse of good players that they get picked off first unless a high priority role is revealed that takes priority.

Now, what I find particularly interesting is how Castrael randomly voted for Black Yoshi... It seems very odd to me.

Normal behaviour when you're picked for lynching is to:
  • 1. Attempt to lynch your aggressor (in this case me)
  • 2. Pick on the next most suspicious person (not black Yoshi)
  • 3. Attack a betrayer (if you're mafia)

I also found Yoshi a tad suspicious in Day 1 when he jumped in after my suspicions and acted as if he was the first to be suspicious of Castrael...

Maybe it's nothing but I think it's worth keeping an eye on him. Perhaps the cop could inspect him?

  • March 6, 2013
    Redack

    Oh.

Ok then. I'm still fairly confident she's Mafia but just in case, I don't want to be the one who screws everything up.

    March 6, 2013
    Jo Nathan

And I'm confident that Nathan is Mafia. Ad he has played Mafia before.

    March 6, 2013
    Castrael

Okay, scratch that last post. Didn't read everything and I'm a bit nervous for my DEP meeting and run this evening. (ashamed)

Isn't the voting threshold supposed to be 60% with Hammer Voting OFF? If that's the case, there needs to be 10 votes for somebody.

Anyway, changing my vote back to Miss Castrael.

    March 6, 2013
    `Roxas`

I didn't mean for that. So many people are posting when I'm posting v.v

Um, correct me if I am wrong, but since no deaths can occur on night 0, isn't it safe to say that the Mafia would NOT have been out and about?

Helius has already said at least twice that the mafia "meet up" at night. So even if they don't kill they're still not home. She can't be any of the other roles that do things on Night 0 therefore she must be mafia.

Also to those considering changing your vote. DON'T.

The executioner has to state he's killing someone when they reach the threshold... There is absolutely not benefit to them doing it to a fellow mafia member and therefore best for us to assume that he/she won't do so on Castrael. Swapping to someone else could just get an innocent killed and keep Castrael around,

    March 6, 2013
    Redack

The only one time I had a Special Role was the Oracle. I've been good ever since. I mean, I know the things I say don't turn out well because I'm still learning the game play. And I promised I wouldn't vote again unless I felt a hundred percent sure.

    March 6, 2013
    Castrael

I suggest not listening to Redack cause he could very well be wrong. :/

    March 6, 2013

Ah, Redack, Roxas, you're too quick for me!
