We can assume the doctor saved Vandy last night. This leads to 2 distinct conclusions.

1.) The mafia assumed this and targeted someone else.

2.) Vandy is actually mafia and his role-claim was to put us on the wrong track.

Anyone else want to think about this some more?

I'd be very surprised if Vandy was lying about his role...falseclaims don't really work well in games without a Janitor because the real power role will counterclaim. Unless we get a counterclaim from someone, I think Vandy's claim is legit. Much more likely that the Mafia wanted to avoid the Doctor save.

I doubt Vandy is lying for the reasons stated above.

Given what happened last round it's probably better to play more cautiously this round.

Not that my word would mean anything in defending myself. But my dream last night brought me a youtube video of no value.

Faw and hezzy have been pretty quiet so far.

I don't know if we can afford to play cautiously at this point. It's doubtful we will actually gain any more information than we already have. I think our only chance is to get one of them and then maybe we would be able to piece things together from there, based off of prior interactions.

Otherwise we're just going to get picked off night after night.

Yeah, I don't think caution is the way to go right now--as Vandy said, with the Cop gone we're not likely to get any more information than we already have, and we also have a few players that haven't said much. If we have people who are legitimately inactive this game (or flying under the radar), it's probably necessary to take one of them out this round.

Vandy, what was the Youtube video in question? It's a long shot but... maybe someone might be able to glean a hint from it?

I actually don't hate the hezekiah vote...I remember games in the past where he's purposefully been inactive (or less active) as Mafia for the purposes of lying low, so I could see something similar happening here. Given the choice, I'd rather vote out an inactive suspicious player than an active one, and I'm not really getting a super fishy vibe from Ghowilo this game.

Holding my vote for now, but I'm leaning towards hezekiah. I would just like to see a bit more discussion if possible before pulling the trigger.

Just read back through the first 3 day rounds. Lancer's been saying some... interesting... things.

Chief, much like myself, seems to have a habit of getting on a particular line and sticking to it. I don't know whether his hunch about Knux is correct, but lancer sounds to me like he's trying to say "look at this crazy guy voting for Knuckles for no good reason."

Then today he suggested going after inactive players, even though it's clear there's activity on the mafia's side. Hm...

Plus, "A-OK" sounds like something he might say.

...yeah, that basically solidifies my vote here. I don't usually like voting reactively, but it's way too suspicious that you've said virtually nothing over the course of the game until you were brought up as a lynch target. Kinda fits my theory of you feigning inactivity in order to lie low as well.

That's...not been my impression. I guess I could just be misremembering your Town-sided games (it's a lot easier to notice activity than the lack thereof), but I definitely recall a game where we were both Mafia and you told us you were going to avoid posting much over the first couple of days to fly under the radar, and I'm pretty sure I've noticed this behavior from you in other games as well.

Why's that?

Two reasons: 1) Inactive players, even if they're on your team, aren't likely to vote so they're not as big of a loss--I always would prefer to get the inactive players out of the way before the ratio gets really tight because otherwise the Mafia can generally strong-arm the voting process and have effectively won the game before it's officially over. 2) As I mentioned as my main suspicion of you, oftentimes an inactive player is actually just a Mafia member trying to fly under the radar. I never really believed you were 'truly' inactive--I thought you might be reading along but keeping quiet in order to stay out of the line of fire.

Also interesting how you're going after me instead of people like Flare or Speed... hm...

My analysis:

Speed: he tends to be fairly quiet when he's a Townie and more active the few times he's been Mafia.

Vandy: no one has counter claimed yet. I'm inclined to believe him.

FAW: she hasn't really contributed too much. She sort of agreed with chief but didn't back it up.

Xhin: seems to be more active than usual. He was the most suspicious of chief last round.

Ghowilo: his play style is always a little irradic. So hard to tell. But he's acting normally.

Hez: he was staying fairly quiet until this round. Just going with the flow. Sometimes that's what the Mafia does.

Evilguy: another fairly inactive player. It is normal for him. But he has hardly shown up at all.

Lancer: he is a hard one for me to tell. I've been wrong about him more than I've been right. He usually goes into the mid suspicious range just in general.

Jo Nathan: he hasn't contributed too much but I'm thinking he's town sided.

Knockles: I haven't played with him before. But he hasn't said anything this round. Maybe chief was right.

With all of that, I'm thinking either hez or lancer is Mafia. And knocked is high on the list as well. I'm going out for the day. So here is my vote.
