So I guess, we would be able to summon the vile creatures if we were to read it; however, it might be in Greek or Latin... perhaps, we'll be lucky and have an English translation

Nah, it automatically does the "end round" thing when you've done all three options. It also doesn't require you to end round even if you do less, that's just so I know when you're done if you use less than three actions.

Hmmmm, from my readings of the Necronomicon, it appears that the undead that were summoned were done so by an invocation of demonic spirits made by the power of Tsathoggua, which can only dwell in necrotic flesh. The only way to control them is if we make a whistle from the ulna of a human.

Since we probably won't survive a fight with a group of undead, I have an idea for a solution. Using what I know of the Necronomicon, and the powers I've received from fusing myself with Nyarlathotep, one of you two could sacrifice yourselves to me, and I'd perform a ritual to reincarnate you as a tsalmaveth (basically a shade), and use the bone in your arm to craft a whistle.

Otherwise, I can try to figure out some other way to kill the undead, but having a roving pack at our control might be quite the advantage.

Alright, I think a course of action now would be for our most able-bodied (Helius) to search the room for players and to try and restrain anyone who might be in here who isn't supposed to be. We should be safe in regards to the corridor entrance (can't really sneak in if it's blocked), but we need to make sure someone doesn't sneak in from the study or is currently sneaking around us right now.

If you're leaving Dooku, you might want to explore the study first, and call out if you find anyone in there. If someone is, we'll charge in to help you out.

As for myself, I'm going to keep working at the Necronomicon while poptart works to get a weapon.

There's a safety deposit box in the Study with a keypad on it, with keys for the numbers 0-9. There's no way to determine the length of the code, but it isn't 1999.

There's a fireplace in the study with a blue fire, and an object behind the fire, but it's too hot to reach in and grab it. There's something odd about the fire though, so you can't just set it out. There's an elderly lady ghost reading a newspaper from 1999 in there that seems to have some connection with the fire, based on what she said.

Around the safety deposit box are a set of newspapers and the headlines don't seem to be very relevant to anything, but they're from the 1990's.

There's also something I found relating to the librarian, but I'd like to confirm it myself before revealing anything about it.

We're basically playing a game like FFT because your actions are invalidated once you move or make an action, except you can make 3 of them and everyone is like a pawn in chess who can move 1 space. Move is best reserved for the last space or waste all 3 searching every nuance of a room for a few turns. There is a mix of point and click adventure where options are presented to you in a paper trail. Mouse in a maze looking for cheese. This is an infant's SRP. How fun it is to be stuck in a room with a blindfold on where the world of this game is constructed as it's fed to you.

You don't move rooms until the round ends. Doesn't matter if move is first or on your list it's always the last action that occurs. It works like this.

Mid-Round & First end of round: Searches, random actions, etc actions.
Second: Combat actions or actions that can directly affect someone else or their actions
Third: Movement between rooms.

Therefore anything said after you left the room is after I've moved everyone between rooms at the end of a round. The other thing is, why would you know what's being said in a room you just walked out of?

I never wrote those and I ignore what they say because it's irrelevant to how I personally want things to be.

1. Yea before the round ends, because in the order I have events occur you haven't left the room by that point.

2. I move everyone into No Room simultaneously as I update a round to prevent anyone seeing anything during round updates so point 2 doesn't really matter... I then put you all in your old/new rooms simultaneously.

Oh and this game is still broken for certain individuals. Shadowwalked seems to be in the Library if that's true.

Broken in what sense, you're gonna have to be specific since no individuals have mentioned something being broken.

Well it's not like anyone would just go in there and kill him, but because of the 1 room move per round he probably won't even be there. I tend to get antsy on the unfairities when rules are made up as we go along, so if you could decide that before the game starts, then that'd be great. Thanks.

When Yeano did it, he did it when things were really broken. This one? Not so much since I don't know if he's dead or not. Anyhow, it's a moderator tool that's patched for Mafia, but not for this game. Prohib-Prohibit it. Gribbit.

It might also be good to have notifications when replies are made in the player's current room or Castlevania Holy Glasses to see players in sneak mode. I dunno.

Assuming Shadowwalked went to library in round 1.

He'd be in there round 2.

He could then return to the corridor round 3.

Round 4 he could then go to another room.

We're now on round five so he could be in any room aside from the basement if his first movement was the library.

As for sneak mode... To be able to see another player's sneak mode posts would defy the point of it existing.

I forgot to mention that this was observed in the last round along with the +1 move possibility, but thanks for pointing out that Shadowwalked could very well be here in this corridor! That makes it a 50% probability now. But yeah, that's the gist of what I said.

It would be funny if someone tried to attempt a kill and actually got it. They have 25% chance of success if the host rolls are decided by numbers over 50. In fact, the Library is also connected to the study so it's probably even lower than 25.

If it's possible I would like to cancel my first action. I'm not asking to be able to reuse it. Just cancel it.

Did not read the First floor description close enough.

As a retired Fire Chief I know you can't set Marble on fire with a candle(fp)

And there is no mention of any furniture or other combustibles in the Corridor.

Therefore no reason to hurt Yeano anymore then someone has already done.

And since Yeano entered the Corridor from the Ballroom and if angry enough probably would have taken this action while still on the marble floor.

And even if he was on the wooden floor, it would be next to impossible to set a wood floor on fire with a candle. The candle would burn out long before the floor would get hot enough to burn.

Feral, wanna split the objects in the room to investigate? Looks like there's all this to choose from, some of which might be a waste of time:

  • talk to the ghost (probably a waste of time based on my prior attempts to talk to the ghosts)
  • investigate the utensils and appliances in the room's "center"
  • inspect the paintings
  • inspect the trench-coat
  • look inside the dishwasher
  • look through the boxes of ingredients
  • look in the large fridge/freezer units

    I think one of the things I'm screwing up on in this game is time difference. When I look at the time on your post, I add 5 hours thinking that's when a round will end.

    So if it's noon here, I'm thinking the round will end at 5pm. Thinking you're going by your time.

    New ADVENTUREGAME features:

    When you die, all of your items will get out of your inventory and go into the room you were in.

    If I remember right, Feral was killed in this room. Does that mean that everything he was carrying is in the room?

    Edit: this always happened anyway but Xhin supposedly made it automated. He was wrong and it's glitched... But yea, whenever someone dies their items are in the room they died in.

    Actually Roxas you're wrong and here is my proof:

    Feral noticed the undead and attempted to leave the room, however whilst he noticed the undead in the room description he missed the bit where the door is barricaded. So he used his action to leave the room, but that failed. A combination of you and the zombies attacking him, plus an unlucky roll, resulted in his death.

    I'd also like to point out it was mentioned in three parts of the description. First in the South description. Second in the Exits description. Third in the players area. So you missed it a grand total of three times! My logical conclusion is you're blind.

    What! I'm the one that made the heart appear. I went through the longest trading quest ever to get here. I don't even know how you could possibly think this was for you :(.

    Do you even know what to do with the heart? Because I do. How could you even get to the rooms to do this event when we went different paths at the start? I literally had an optimal path for this, and skipped a part with the help of white lancer.

    I don't want to fight or anything, because as you said, I've come too far to just end it here at the roll of a die. I've played a very careful game these past few round just for this.

    Perhaps we could settle on an information trade?

    I went straight to the library and got a lead on her first round. I've been following it ever since.

    If I hadn't forgotten the tile color in the bathroom, I would have grabbed the heart four turns ago. As it was, I had to go back to the bathroom and find out, then come here.

    I don't know what to do. I sympathize with your position. But I've been doing this quest from the start.

    Just let me have it. My understanding is finding her is just bonus points - it won't get you out of the mansion.

    The alternative is we fight and whoever wins gets it. But I can't let you have it.

    Or, we can settle with an agreement: one of us takes the Heart (I'm fine with it being you, especially since you have me at a physical disadvantage), and we part ways after the Librarian, I'm sure there's more to this than simply talking to the Librarian, after all.

    Also >:^[ @ Redack for not giving me the bathroom question. I've been keeping a log of room desriptions and came from the bathroom (obviously, for the Showering Ghost), and my question had to do with the basement. Luckily lancer helped me out with that when I went back to the corridor.

    Eh, its been my focus all game. Hence why when I saw that -someone- was clearly going for it, I attacked rather than let them get ahold of it. Didn't want my last 15 rounds to be a waste.

    And yeah, if I'd just copied the room descriptions every time I'd already have the heart -_- Very annoying.

    But anyway, I haven't been very far in this house. Library, Attic, Bathroom, Corridor. That's all. I have no leads on the endgame.

    Well I've come to the conclusion that I suck at this game. And to be very honest I have run out of ideas.

    I've thought about looking under the sink to see if the pipes go through a wall that could be kicked out.
    Same with the dishwasher, since both of these have pipes that normally go through walls, which weakens the integrity of the wall.
    But that shit sounds to Macgyver.

    Then I tried to ask myself what would I do if I was in this situation.
    And it would be to try just what I said above
    {fp}

    So I think for now I'm going to climb on top of the tallest thing I can fit on in order to put some space between me and the rats. And kill everyone of the nasty bastards that come near me.
    And wait for the lights to come and see if the rats will eat what's blocking the door.
    Maybe it's that fucking chicken's ghost.

    I've been in the Library, Attic, Bathroom, Corridor, and Study. There were a few timing related mistakes I made, so I probably could have actually been able to get the heart sooner if certain things didn't happen (wasted a day asking pointless questions to the Showering Ghost, had an action to leave the Study not work because it was too late, left the attic because I thought the Maid would just give me the heart instead of answering a riddle).

    The Study isn't very exciting. Just a lot of 1999 stuff. Also a hungry old lady.

    I know I'm probably pretty shady after the Aliens game, however as you also went on this 15 round adventure for the Librarian's heart you should understand how much I'd prefer not to die now. The fact that I punched you in the face while you almost decapitated me with a flaming sword should be a pretty good indicator of how poorly equipped I am, as well. If anything, I'm the one that should be worried, but I'm putting my trust in you because that's the safest option available, by far.

    You did not specify you were using the candle, therefore I assumed you weren't. Only passive abilities (which are noted as such and being passive they're passive so passively they do passive things) automatically apply, anything else you must specify you're doing it otherwise you're not. I've made that clear so many times through both these games.

    I would think that if you kill someone then searching their body would be a natural part of that act.

    Slow internet + full-time job + laptop charger issues = not much time to get around here and do stuff. Fortunately, one of those problems has been corrected and the other will be in a few weeks (and the final one...not exactly a problem at all :D).

    The is a slipper ooze all around the room, anyone sneaking (and doing a movement) will slip and be revealed.


    Was this introduced into the game to put myself and others that may be sneaking all the time at a disadvantage?

    And if so. why?

    Redack: No. The glob (another player) did it several turns ago. I have ideas to deal with the sneaking "issue" but I decided to do nothing until the game is over.

    I think I really screwed up big time.

    Shadowwalked used all 3 of his actions before I used any of mine. I think this would have been a good time to kill him.

    But I have been trying to play this game without killing anyone, although I did try to kill someone earlier.

    Maybe it's time to start re-thinking what I need to do.

    Sorry for being some dumb. But to make sure I understand.
    You have to use a action to enter a portal right. And that action will happen at the end of the round. All this does is eliminate spending a entire round in the corridor.

    Redack: Yea, it's exactly the same as moving between rooms always was only now you can pick any room instead of adjacent rooms. I'm trying to help speed things up a little, it's slowed down a bit (partly because of how busy I've been and missing round end dates).
