game 22 night 0 the dark age of thunderville

Nearly three months have passed since the town of Thunderville was overtaken by the mafia. The once peaceful land was brought down into an age of chaos and darkness, where fear and terror dictate the law. As time progressed and the mafia population grew, a rift began to form among the citizens. Differing ideologies and varying degrees of political influence split the town into two factions: a weak majority favoring an end to this "Dark Age," and a poweful minority who abuse their strength to maintain the chaos that keeps them in power.

These are dark times... where the law has been reduced to rubble. An age where the end justifies the means, as the divided town struggles to fight for one future of their desire. An age of distrust, where identities and affiliations are hidden out of fear. This is the Dark Age of Thunderville.

The Power Roles:

Lazy Sniper - Can choose to kill someone at night. Has a one-in-three chance of killing that person. Can only use their power three times per game. If their target is in a burnt house, the chance of a succesful kill is 100%.

Lazy Ninja - Can choose to make the mafia's kill (not Sniper or Ascender) undetectable by the Watcher and Insomniac. Can only use their power three times per game.

Ascender - Can choose to target one player at night. If that player is in a burnt room, that player and anyone visiting that player (aside from the Ascender themselves) will die. Can only use their power once per game.

Impulsive Arsonist - Each night, is required to burn down a player's house. That player will not die, but their house will be burnt for the duration of the game. Failure to burn a house will result in a host-kill, unless there are no more houses to burn.

Watcher - Can choose one player to watch each night. The watcher will see who visits their target. If their target is in a burnt house, the watcher will not only see who visited their target, but the actions made by the visitors.

Insomniac - Has the same ability as the Watcher, but will only get results for the players above and below them on the Player List, as well as themselves. The Insomniac does NOT count as visiting any players. The burnt house condition of the Watcher role applies to the Insomniac as well.

Distracted Doctor - Can protect a player through the night, preventing them from death of any kind. They can target whoever they want, however, they cannot target the same person in back-to-back nights.

Game-Specific Notes:

  • Out of Game Communication is allowed. This means it is acceptable to discuss the game with other players outside of the main thread, whether through the gtx0 notifications feature, instant messaging services, etc.

  • Following the conditions of the Insomniac, if the Insomniac is number 10 on the player list, they'll get results each night for players 9, 10, and 11. Since the top and bottom numbers of the player list (1 and 15) are problematic, they will get results from the one person next to them on the player list, as well as the other person at the opposite end of the list. This means that if Player 1 is the Insomniac, they'll get results each night for players 1, 2, and 15. The player list has been randomized to promote fairness.

  • The arsonist's action is the top priority in the night. This means that if the Sniper, Ascender, Watcher, or Insomniac target the same person as the arsonist, they will still get their burnt room bonus. If the Ascender decides to target a player that is not in a burnt room, their action will fail and they will lose their power for the rest of the game. If the ascender targets the same person as the Impulsive Arsonist, the Arsonist will die.

  • Investigative roles and Killing Roles will not be used on Night 0. Only the Impulsive Arsonist will use their action.

  • Mafia kills, Sniper kills, and Ascender kills will all be distinguishable in the main thread. Failed attempts will also be recorded.

    -Watcher and Insomniac
    -Ascender kill

    Round will end in 24 hours, or whenever the night action is in and I'm awake to update.
