The big twist: The beloved townie from Shadow's story that was murdered Night 0... WAS ME!

A guy can't even walk down the lane admiring the Christmas lights without being strangled by a dead strand!

Good evening, lovelies. (evil)

After last game, as short-lived as it was (RIP Feral), I think it affirmed the notion in some players' minds that if I play quietly, then I'm mafia. Therefore, I will be much more active this time around. That means I will be drawing a lot of attention to myself but if there's someone in this game that could lynch a townie and somehow seem innocent, it would be me.

Unless anyone would like to volunteer, I'll be on weid duty until either of us dies (see reply above).

I look forward to working with you and having wild, unadulterated fornications with the villagers. {:D}

I've returned from the depths of Hell... to do battle with you.

Ha... ! It seems the rat has left its nest. Scurry, Noxious, but I'll be the one that makes you pay for your crimes.

hi ROFL.

So, I only get to kill one person? And it works during the day round? So like... Do I just publicly walk up and shoot them in the face or something?

Life's path is never straight.

You'll only get to kill one person throughout the game, yes.

You don't post your kill publicly - when you decide you want to kill, you will post in this thread with your target, and one of the Hosts will immediately eliminate the player you chose to kill in a post in the main thread. Your identity will not be revealed.

hi~

it is now canon that Public Investigators don't get me c:

Interceptor sounds interesting, albeit risky given that literally half the town makes night visits (some at random, no less). Still, even a visit where he gets caught results in an extra kill, so it doesn't seem like too bad a deal. We'll just hope it doesn't come to that.

if there's someone in this game that could lynch a townie and somehow seem innocent, it would be me.
lol

well, I haven't seen anyone else keep a list of their innocent body count... (hehe)

So like, they'll be IMMEDIATELY eliminated? As in, if it's in the middle of the day around, they will just be removed mid-sentence? hehhehe.... behh...

I think that it is pretty likely I will get killed fairly early on in the game anyway. As such, I think it would be wise to use my powers every night round (unless u lot disagree).

And even so, if I am revealed to the town, it will allow the Marksman to be able to come into contact with the rest of the mafia.

Of course, if anyone contacted me claiming to be the marksman, I would be highly suspicious, and would probably give them the name of one innocent person as a mafia, just so you could see what they did in the following rounds. Knowing Majora, this seems like a very typical kind of play he would make. Of course, that would mean that Majora would be aware that I know plays like this are typical, so he might be aware of my plot if he does decide to contact me this way (assuming I am revealed before I die).

Anyway, tl;dr, if I get revealed and someone decides to contact me, we should all have an agreed upon "target" prepared for me to call a Mafia member. Then the living mafia can see how this person claiming to be the marksman reacts to this information to determine whether or not the so-called marksman is trustworthy with the identity of an actual mafia member.

As soon as the Hosts are able to register it, yes. {;)}

Alright. Thanks Apollo. It's good to not be a townie for once. It's also bad though. But I'm confident. I got this.

Am I able to investigate someone tonight?

I like having all of the random night actions--only one missing is the Poltergeist to really screw things up! {:P}

I'm less thrilled to be a powerful role, though, just because I always die early. But such is the tradeoff.

The one power role play of yours I remember was when you were the Lazarus - and you actually got a Mafia member with it, which was pretty awesome. Just stick with your guns! Metaphorically speaking, of course. {:P}

Nope, no investigating tonight - no Night 0 actions for anyone.

December 11, 2013
Apollo Justice

Just looked up the Poltergeist and oh man, that would make things crazy {:P}

I had always told myself that when I hosted Mafia, I really wanted to use the Lovers - but if I added them in this game, it definitely would have been too power-role heavy. For a no-OOG game, I think it'd be the best, because it at least gives you a guaranteed mini-faction within the Town.

December 11, 2013
Apollo Justice

Yeah. That was a really fun role because I wasn't too worried about my playing because I would get resurrected if I died. It was just a matter of guessing when they would kill me because I could only use my power every other night. I've been power roles a few other times, but that's my most notable play probably.

I hope the Lazarus role gets brought back eventually because I really enjoyed it.

Ah, a role I have real-life experience with. Had I known you were starting so far before midnight, I would have gotten into character before going to bed.

Let's say that the mafia votes for their kill in the following order: Godfather, Interceptor, Hooker, Mafioso. If I use my power on the Godfather, would this prevent the mafia's kill?

December 11, 2013
hezekiah

Very fitting, in that case. {;)}

Yes. If you use your power on the first person to cast the vote for the Mafia kill, then the kill will be prevented, unless the Hooker were to also use their power on you.

can i kill someone literally as soon as the game starts

If you want to, though that's up to you. Just remember that you are only able to shoot someone once throughout the entire game.

you think you're likely to die early? Not sure why, but as far as I've thought it through I have no problems with you using your power freely - just a question of on who. Sleepwalkers are wild cards, while the four who actually choose their targets will likely have a bit more reasoning to their decisions. The larger pool of targets they have to draw from could definitely work to our advantage, but I'm definitely not a fan of the Journalist's bulletproof vest, which could potentially be a real headache.

You make a good point about the Marksman - even if you do get exposed using your power, that'd make you a potential contact point for our unknown ally. Hopefully you'd be able to make good on it quickly, since I could definitely see an anxious Guard killing you during the day round rather than waiting for a majority lynch vote to take place - likely hoping to prevent that connection from being made. If we do have the luxury of a little time, though, I completely agree that anyone claiming the role should be regarded with caution, even if only one person approaches you.

Fortunately, if they don't waste their lone bullet ahead of time, you could always try to have them prove their identity by telling us who's claiming and then naming a target for them to shoot - especially since the Marksman isn't revealed when shooting. They'd have nothing to lose and everything to gain by following your order. The Guard is the only other person who can shoot someone midday (and might be publicly revealed in doing so), significantly cutting down on the chance of a false claim. If the designated target eats it, we could then take the next step in making contact with the person making the claim and hopefully confirm an ally. Then we could end up more like that other game where the responsible mafia and its charming godfather didn't hurt their secret pal at all~ (hehe)

Life's path is never straight.

Oh Jesus. I have no idea how to play this role. Looks like with all the sleepers my effectiveness is pretty minimal. I think if the sleepers reveal that would be a big help, though that would make it so that the mafia have a greater than 50% chance of hitting a power role, and I'm not sure how to suggest it in the thread without making myself look like a power role.

I recieve 1 point for every lynch I influence. Does this mean I could totally lie in my report if I wanted to, get a townie lynched, and still get a point? Not a good long term strategy at all, because the town would just ignore all of my future reports, but I'm curious.

Also, can I write whatever I want in my articles? Even if it's unrelated to my findings?
