game 24 conclusion

Posted February 8, 2014 by MajorasMask9

The two went inside and found roses spread evenly across the floor. Not too many, but enough to be noticed.

Friday, February 14th
12:00pm -- Noon

The passengers unfolded the four slips of paper that were placed on the Dining Car's table. They knew this was their final vote. If they voted wrong, it would mean the end for all three of the innocent passengers.

Lady Flare

Speed Bike Pro

Lady Flare

Lady Flare

Lady Flare was the final person voted to be killed.

"Wait!" she said in mild desperation.

Lady Flare confessed to them. She was the Replacement Lazy Ninja.

Silence filled the Dining Car. Until Speed Bike Pro, the Townie, stepped up and spoke to her. "Why did you do this? Why did it have to end with all of this death..."

Lady Flare explained to the three how she had accidentally killed Redack as he went into hiding, bumping into him and knocking him out of an opened window. She heard running and a loud yell in the hall, and hid in her room. When hezekiah came in, she was already out of sight. Later, the remaining mafia had contacted her in private, forcing her into a life as a mafia...

"I'm... sorry... I didn't want all of this death... but I had to... If there's... any way I could make up for it... I'd just like to... honor their deaths... This never should have happened"

Lady Flare took one of the many roses from around the Dining Car's tables, walked toward the dead body of Pirate_Ninja, which was now off to the side of the room, and placed it over him.

"It won't bring them back... and it won't make up for what I've done... but I hope this rose can serve as a reminder of my sorrow for committing such an atrocity to these innocent people..."

And before anyone could intervene, Lady Flare quickly pulled out a cyanide pill from her pocket it and threw it in her mouth.

"No!" Feral, the Oracle, shouted. But it was too late.

It was over. There would be no more deaths. No more killings.

Speed Bike Pro, Castrael, and Feral looked back and forth at each other, and the two dead bodies in the room, wondering what to do. They took a rose from one of the tables and placed it next to Lady Flare. The three of them decided what they would do next, and started gathering roses, and headed off to the cabins with the rest of the lost passengers...

It was two hours later that things came to a halt. Darkness filled the train. The train felt as if it was decelerating to a stop. Castrael, the Townie, tried to get a better look by looking out through the window. It was hard to see, but it looked like the train had pulled into a massive tunnel. Why had the train stopped in such an odd place? Surely, this wasn't their destination.

The doors exiting the train opened.

They walked outside, finding themselves in a large tunnel that extended further than they could really see. Along the wall was a tunnel that looked like an entrance of some sort. They walked through the tunnel.

On the other end was a magnificent scene. Bright grass, blooming flowers, waterfalls and streams, all together making a beautiful spot of land between the mountains. No one was there, besides the harmless wildlife that roamed.

They looked at the land in front of them in awe. It was beautiful. It was then that they decided: they would stay here, build new houses, make a new village. This would be their new home. Theirs. They would work together to make a new place for all of them, in memory of the ten lost in the murderous train ride. They would name it, the Town of Lostroses...

The Town Frustroville

The train pulled up to its destination, people waiting to greet their friends and family. It had departed one week ago and was scheduled to arrive today. Quite the long journey, and the villagers were excited to meet their loved ones whom they had not seen in many months.

The train stood motionless. Nothing changed. No one came out. "Where were they?" they wondered. Puzzled, some villagers decided to open the door and look inside. A couple of villagers went inside, and before taking a few steps in, turned around holding a rose that was picked up off the floor.

The two went inside and found roses spread evenly across the floor. Not too many, but enough to be noticed. They were there when they went in the train, it left quite the impression.

The villagers looked through the cabins. They opened one door to find the body of a nurse. There were clear signs of a struggle, and obviously, the end result was itself gruesome. However, there was a rose placed on the body. There were two in the room with the notes pinned on the door, lying next to one another. Two roses in their hands. For every body that was found, a rose accompanied it.

After identifying the bodies, the villagers realized that a few of them were missing. What happened to the rest? "Where were they?" they wondered.

----------

Days passed and weeks passed, months and years. The town of Lostroses began to develop into a fine place to live. Houses were constructed for the three, and they had plenty of resources to live their new lives. A memorial area for the ten passengers of the train was constructed. Every February 8th, they would bring 17 roses to the site, in remembrance of the 17 passengers who began their journey on that fateful day...

GG guys. Was very fun to watch up to the end, really could have gone either way, naturally though I'm pleased with the results.

It couldn't have been done without all of our lovely Townspeople...

And although we had a few Bad Breaks here and there...

We really pulled through and got on the right Track...

We Nursed our logic to form highly productive thought machines and through some act of an Oracle, we won...

... but I don't think it could have happened without true Love~

Flare’s #1 rule when playing Mafia:

Never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever …

SECOND GUESS MYSELF!!!

Good Game. I’m very glad it’s over. The last 3 weeks have been hard enough without playing Mafia. I really wanted to be a Townie. I know everyone hates it. But I’m very happy as one.

Lady Flare

Gotta say, I know the Mafia didn't win but I am incredibly impressed by Lady Flare's play despite adamantly wanting to be Town-sided. Sticking it out despite the odds of being put on Mafia was noble and to see her last until the last round (and have the game come down to the wire so hard) was very intense and enjoyable to watch. With that being said, I think the role of the Replacement was pretty neat to watch unfold.

It wouldn't have been as great a game as it was without everyone but I've gotta give credit where credit is due and you deserve it, Lady Flare. I'm sorry that it had to end that way but I hope the game served somewhat as a distraction from everything you have going on in your life. You played excellently and I only figured it was you at the end due to the way the pieces fell into place. Otherwise, I would've been completely stumped.

At the very least, you don't have to worry about the stress of being mafia anymore (until game 25). Best wishes with everything going forward.

GG to all and to all a goodnight. (look)

Fun game. Enjoyed watching the ending from the sidelines. Flare played well, almost pulled it out for us.

Good game everyone. Especially you, Lady Flare. Seriously, if you don't get some good player points for this, I think His Honorable Judge Bikepro would be happy to oversee the lawsuit case.

Yeah, the town had a massive lead, but Flare still brought us right to the brink. That last round looked like it could have gone either way. Well played by both sides.

I think it was a good game, but didn't really pay much attention. So yeah, hooray town!

February 9, 2014
hezekiah

Flare, if you were forced into killing, then why did you murder Dooku and PN and allow us to murder Jo and Bandit AFTER your captors were dead? You can have stopped this anytime and saved four innocent lives! Now I have to live knowing that I caused the death of innocent Bandit by bandwagoning him.

So yeah, I sucked as usual and only survived thanks to my "untouchable" role(that never came into play).

I actually wanted to night kill Bandit because in the last few games he's suggested that I should be killed. I just didn't get the opportunity. But I did start the vote against him so I guess it worked out in the end.

I go after you because I hate you so much, Flare.

That's ok, Bandit. BTW, I don't have anything against you personally. You are a good Mafia player.

well, I mean, if you told me that if I open Door 2 that I get punched in the face, I'm prooooooooobably going to open Door 1 instead (look)

I was hoping the Oracle would get in touch with Bad Break Billy like I had, so that we could maybe meet up, have him claim my role, and possibly get us an Oracle result to boot. Except I figured suggesting any part of that in public would be a big ol' red flag.

Had I lived longer than I did, I'd have had Speed taken out fairly quickly. He was the one who identified every single Mafia, including Lady Flare, and he was so instrumental in the Town's win that he deserves to be this game's MVP. Had we taken him out when we had the chance, I feel like this game could have ended far differently (that is, with the Mafia winning).

As usual, feel free to point out any changes that you guys feel should be made. I'm apparently stricter than other hosts when giving out good playing points, and I might have overlooked some things in my review of the game.

If nothing has been made official, I'd like to pitch in my name as host of the next game. I understand there is a priority list but I would very much like to host as soon as humanly possible! If that means as soon as next game then so be it. I'm ready. (look)

Alright, Bubba, but on what grounds?

From document "Mafia Rules":

You may not under any circumstance (unless specified by the Host), copy and paste any of the information contained in a role specific thread (Mafia Thread, Doctor Thread, Sheriff Thread, etc.) or make up content from one of those threads and portray it as having been copied and pasted. This also applies to screenshots of the thread. If this is done, the Host will take action accordingly (which can result in an in-game sanction, host-kill, or, if particularly egregious, a ban from the forum). This also applies for your role.

From document "Player Scores Info":

How to lose points:

You will lose 1 point for breaking a Mafia/Game Rule.

I assume you're arguing that what you did wasn't against the rules, but I'd like to hear your reasons why.

^And if I were to say no?

Ugh, is this going to be one of those he-said, she-said deals? Not a fan, as it means one of the parties is lying--I already can't trust you lot in game, but it would be nice if I could trust everyone OOG.

    February 14, 2014
    white lancer

I have no stake in this squabble directly, but as a player who enjoys Mafia, I have to say this a slippery slope we're dealing with.

I'm not saying this is what's happening, but if Bubba is asking Cas to cover for him so he doesn't get "in trouble", this is basically setting a precedent for people to just break rules nilly willy, and having rules in the first place would mean fuck all.

I mean, a lot of this game is based on an honor system. If we start breaking that, what will stop dead Mafia members from tipping off their teammates OoG? Or site admins taking a peek at the Mafia panel? I guess theoretically these things could have already been happening for all I know, but that's why it's called an honor system - we place a level of trust in our fellow players, and right now that trust is being abused by one of you. I'd like to think this is a game of deduction and deception, not a contest to see who can cheat better.

For the sake of Mafia, I hope whichever one of you is lying will come clean like an adult so we can move past this.

This was the picture I received, and the timestamp of Bubba's message shows it as being sent 10 hours before the round (Day 4) ended. Skype timestamps in copied messages can't be modified (easily, if at all.) Not that I don't think the image itself is proof enough (Bubba's Skype window opened in a conversation, the Page Source opened in a tab in the browser showing there was intent to make a fake screenshot.)

^My lovable "gullible" self, as people have been calling me. I hate this part of myself. My friend told me to take a risk and trust people, and that's why I believed Bubba. I have no ill feelings towards Bubba. He's a good guy. I'm still in pain after a year 1/2 of manipulation from people (on GT) I thought we're my friends. Nothing personal. But, anyway.

This is Mafia though. The point of the game is for the mafia to deceive the town (and it was done in a way that broke the rules this time but still). It's nothing personal and it doesn't mean you shouldn't trust people, you just have to be careful within the confines of the game because there is a lot of trickery involved.
