so if my results are based on my target being counted as visiting someone, clear up a few things for me pls~

If the Ninja doesn't hide the mafia kill, would I only get a result for that if I track their first voter, or is there a "group meeting" where any mafia member would be seen?

The Investigator, Janitor, Replacement, and Nurse visit their targets when they act, I take it?

Does the Ballot Forger visit their target at night, or is that a sneaky sneaky day job?

Based on your response to hezekiah, it sounds like Bad Break Billy (lol) does not visit the mafia kill target if the Nurse saves them...true?

soooooooo it seems I've got some trackin' to do, though without much reason to base it on and a reduced number of possible results tonight. Which could be a blessing or a curse, I guess.

only a few people should've been out on Night 0, so catching someone on the move is quite handy:

Would she investigate hezekiah? Definitely a solid chance.

Are she and hezekiah the Lovers? Could be. (scandalous!)

Might she have decided to play Nurse on a night of no killing? Tough to say.

since there was no chance of a kill on Night 0, a proactive Nurse could've only made a house call in an attempt to block the Investigator or Ballot Forger from acting...while hoping not to hit the Tracker and waste a night of potential info. The odds of doing something helpful rather than harmful are slightly favorable, I guess, but I think the Forger isn't likely a huge threat on Day 1. On Night 0 there's not much indication of who it'd be effective to divert the vote toward, and trying to steer the town toward their target would be particularly dangerous if the round end makes it clear that a vote was forged. So I don't see the Forger as much of an incentive for the Nurse to make a move on Night 0, but they might still find it worthwhile to try and stop the Investigator at the risk of blocking the Tracker (who had few potential sights to see that night).

I appreciate that someone pitched the idea of having Bad Break Billy roleclaim, since

it gives me a name to ignore

it removes any question of whether someone I follow to a murder is guilty

it gives us a potential "safe" intermediary

I thought it'd be helpful but didn't want to attach myself to the idea so openly

there's a clear drawback in that it's one less name for the Mafia to pick from when looking to kill a more useful role like the Nurse, but hopefully we can work around that. In any event, one person claimed and it strikes me as a bad one to fake if the real deal is paying any attention to the game so I'm all right taking it at face value for now.

as for what to do tonight...I'm torn. A Day 1 like this doesn't leave me feeling like I've got a whole lot to go on, and I'd rather not poke around blindly for leads if I can help it. There's a Ninja to hide the kill, and there aren't many other useful things to be seen out there. Even a "player didn't go out" message doesn't say very much when there are both kill-hiding and roleblocking roles alive to complicate matters. Unless I live long enough for people to start claiming roles that may conflict with my results, my tracking doesn't seem all that helpful.

rather then poke around on a hunch and most likely get a result of "this person had no night action unless they actually did and it was hidden/blocked/unused," I think I'd rather try to build on what I already know for now. After a fair amount of deliberation I don't feel like typing out because I think I've prattled on a fair bit already, I think I've settled on tracking hezekiah. Between that and the way the nightkill pans out I'll hopefully get some useful results.

that was the least interesting possibility, but at least I didn't miss a chance to catch the Janitor...and on that note, the Nurse seems like a kill the mafia would like to keep hidden, so I doubt he was their first investigation target unless they've got an inattentive Janitor (possible, since the night round went its full length)

been able to speak briefly with Apollo and our impressions of the town seemed to be pretty similar. Being able to cross two names off the suspect list is always nice.

I'm glad the town drifted toward someone other than Feral in the end - especially since it resulted in a mafia lynch. I only voted for him to give Apollo some breathing room with the votes so close at the start of the final day...a forged ballot surprise is something we can do without. Kinda disappointed the shift didn't happen until I was out running errands and unable to get involved.






I think I've decided on a tracking target for tonight, but I don't want to confirm it quite yet.

so I have the Lovers identified and nobody has counterclaimed Bad Break Billy, which narrows the field a bit, but there's still a very good chance I won't be of much use at this point. Since the mafia's able to both investigate and kill every night, my chances of making it to the end alive are pretty questionable...and they only need the Ninja's power as long as I'm around to catch them so they'll probably use it. So I figure I'm likely playing a game of Guess the Investigator tonight.

I'm doubly concerned about tonight because the Replacement could pick me on a whim as well. Tonight's tracking (if I actually got a result) would probably be the only casualty information-wise, but dying sucks and I don't care for it. I figured I could ask to be replaced tonight if need be (if I were forced to out myself to avoid a lynch or something), but since there's not much use in that I'd rather remain among the living.


aaaaanyway tonight I'll be tracking chiefsonny - here's hoping for some good news in the morning~

So he's neither the Investigator nor the Replacement-turned-Ninja, I guess. Doesn't account for everything, unfortunately.

playing it cool for the sake of living to the late game when my power's more likely to work has been pretty annoying this time around.

in the end, though, it felt a little too forward and I decided to focus elsewhere because it struck me as more in line with what Jo had claimed as a defense - that he may have been trying to draw the Investigator's attention for the benefit of actual power roles. After all, hinting to anyone that you're the Replacement seems dangerous because your new alignment will be apparent once the Night 2 switch kicks in. I'm interested to see how this turns out.
