I don't blame hezekiah for trying something new, but I think it's pretty clear that this didn't work. I was mafia when we did the Halloween game that one time, where the mafia also didn't know who their teammates were, and it didn't work then either.

Mafia is set up so both sides have advantages and disadvantages. The mafia are fewer in number, but they know all of their teammates and all of their enemies. The Town have larger numbers, but they don't know anything. No one would be OK with a game where the mafia outnumbered the Town 2-1. Similarly, no one should be OK with a game where the mafia don't know who their teammates are. The only exception is the Traitor role (I think is the name?), which is just one guy who has to figure out who his team is. That one works fine, and is actually kind of an advantage for the mafia, as he gives away virtually no info if he's lynched.

I think it could have worked if the town wasn't overpowered. For example, there were no mafia power roles. For another, the town had two protector roles and one game-breaking role.

Considering the unusual length of the game (and the fact that everything that could go wrong did for the mafia), I say we give hezekiah another shot at hosting.

I agree with Xhin. Let hezekiah host another game. I'm in since I didn't really get to do much this game. So is Frustro.
