You enter into a large cylindrical room that extends far below and far above, although the transparent floor you stand on appears to offer no way to the floor below and in fact simply jumping down would mean certain death.
Central to the room is a massive comms spire that goes from the floor below straight to the roof above. Dishes, antennae and a variety of other communications systems stick out from the tower, spinning and shifting. Where the spire passes the transparent floor are numerous consoles going around the circumference.
