You enter into a large cylindrical room that extends far below and far above, although the transparent floor you stand on appears to offer no way to the floor below and in fact simply jumping down would mean certain death.
Central to the room is a massive electrified tesla coil looking spire that goes from the floor below straight to the roof above. Multiple circular devices spiral up and down the spire focusing the energy used to power the shield emitters throughout the station. Where it passes the transparent floor are numerous consoles going around the circumference.
