Hello all! Sorry this has taken so long. Please sign up if you would like to play in this game. Below is a list of potential roles that may be used in the game. Rounds will be 42/24 hours, starting and ending at 9pm EST.

TOWN ROLES:
Gendry Waters (Compare to Apprentice) - He was an apprentice Blacksmith in King's Landing for a while until he went north with the recruits for The Night's Watch. He replaces the first power role that dies.

Ned Stark (Compare to Cop) - Has a habit of sticking his nose where it doesn't belong. Has the ability to check any player during the night round and gets an innocent or guilty verdict for that player.

Maester Luwin (Compare to Doctor) - He studied for many years at the Citadel. Every night he can choose to give a player the milk of the poppy, protecting them from any night killing actions.

The Hound (Compare to Guard) - Sandor Clegane has developed a fondness for the little Stark girl known as Arya, and has sworn to protect her. Once a day, he can choose to kill any player, but doing so has a 50% chance of revealing his role to the entire town.

Littlefinger's Whores (Compare to Special Club) - A small group of townie's that sell their bodies in the local brothel. They like to gossip about the town, especially their visitors. They know who each other are, but that's the extent of their speciality.

Town Crier (Similar to Governor but can't stop night kills) - The Town Crier has the ability to send messages to the town at any time.

Northerners (Compare to Townie) - No special powers, just your standard townie.

Mafia Roles:

The Queen Regent (Compare to Godfather) - Cersei Lannister is the leader of the Lannister Faction. Ruthless and Cunning, she can break ties on the mafia kill vote and appears innocent to Ned Stark (even though he knows she's totally having sex with her brother)

The Mountain (Compare to Thug) - Ser Gregor Clegane has sworn fealty to The Queen Regent and serves as her personal guard. He will die in place of any mafia member that would have died that night.

Ser Ilyn Payne (Similar to Executioner and Public Killer) - Can choose to kill any player who reaches 1/3 of the votes in the day round. That player is immediately killed in front of the entire town and Ser Ilyn's identity is revealed.

Jaime Lannister (Compare to Silencer) - Jamie has always been... persuasive. Once a night he can intimidate another player, effectively silencing them the next day round.

Red Cloak (Compare to Mafioso) - Warriors who have sworn fealty to the Lannister Party. Have no special powers other than voting for who to kill at night.


Third Party Roles:
Littlefinger (Compare to Survivor) - His goal is simple, survive. If he can make it to the end of the game alive, he wins with whichever other faction has won. Appears Innocent to Ned Stark.

Master of Whispers (Compare to Journalist) - Varys, sometimes also called The Spider, sees and hears everything. Well, that's how it normally is, in this game he sends out messages to the town. If both he and the Town Crier are used, his messages will appear to come from the Town Crier. Gets +1 points for every lynching he influences. Appears Innocent to Ned Stark

Extra Factions:
Faith of the Seven (Compare to Serial Killer + Admirers) - The Faith of the Seven has recently gotten their hands on some weapons, and they're not afraid to use them. Every night, they get to kill one other player. They all share a common thread similar to the mafia. They appear Guilty to Ned Stark.

Whoa, this is confusing. I thought we learned our lesson with the Rush names. These are even worse.

Also, WAY to many roles in gerenal. You will need at least 16-18 players to cover all the power rolls, and that is WITHOUT any vanilla townies or Mafiosos. Also, FIVE potential kills every round? The game would be over by the third day.

Lastly, this Faith of the Seven thing, a second Mafia with no power roles. Honestly, I hate it. Those players are at a MAJOR diadvantage and it will be Hell for the town to keep track of.

I'll join, although I do dislike these themed games where the role names are changed (especially when it's something I am not familiar with because then it's just a bunch of random names attached to existing roles).

Also games with a third faction have tended to not go down so well in the past.

A few things, these roles are potential, not set in stone. I had planned on having a discussion on those before hand.

I wasn't planning on using random names, if it helps I can put something like this in the daily roles:

As far as the third party, that will really be used of we have a 30+ person game and there aren't too many objections, these are only potential roles, though the theme was voted on so I'd like to keep their names.

hmmm.... it seems there are no night killing roles for the town and without the Serial Killers there would be no other night kills. So, would you prefer

A.) The Hound (Guard) can kill at night

or

B.) If The Hound kills during the day, The Mountain takes his place

That didn't make sense the way I'd meant it to. To clarify for option B.

1. The Hound (Guard) opts to kill someone during the day.
2. He managed to hit a mafia target.
3. The Mountain (Thug) replaces the mafia target to be killed.
4. The Mountain dies.

I think the last time a third party role worked really well was when I used the serial killer role successfully with the admirer. But that has been ages ago.

I have never watched any of the Game of Thrones shows and know nothing about them.

But I support the Mafia Game and those members that step up and Host.

I don't know if that is a shot at my decision not to play, but I am going to turn my back on it.

Seriously, though, first Ghow calls me out and acuses me of blatantly trying to piss him off when I have barely interacted with him (I have a witness who I will not name unless absolutly nessesary), and now this.

These constant attacks and trollings about my playing or not is starting to turn me off of Mafia alltogether. I play Mafia just to have fun and pass time. I guess I just don't take it as seriously as the rest of you. I apologize that it somehow ruins the game and our comunity for you.

Also @Feral: I'm pretty sure Chief didn't mean anything directed at you. I've found Chief is much more direct about it when he has an issue with someone.

Sure, but this goes deeper than that. Anyway, I'm willing to let it drop in fact I already had, until he brought it back up. I'm still not sure how he even saw what I said considering a.) he's not a mod anymore, and b.) he wasn't online when it was posted/before it got tagged.

To clarify, my anger was not entirely due to what happened in this thread, but something that happened in this thread definitely set me off. I'll give an excerpt from my Xhin conversation so that it's understood.

he comes in, is a dick about my potential role list, and worried about names. so I cut much of the potential role list and make it clear that I would post standard mafia role titles beside the themed names in parenthases and then he's like, "nah idk anything about GoT, I'm not going to play, even though I had you change your shit so much"

But also from my experience Feral is one of the nicest and well meaning people I've met on this site (or in general probably). He genuinely means well in what he does, even if it doesn't always come across that way. So if this is all baaed on fallout from some previous conversation, I think it's entirely possible that there was a miscommunication and that Feral didn't mean anything by it... As is the case here.

Ghow, I never intended to make you change anything. I was just making general observations. Also, I didn't even know about the GoT theme at the time, so it all really did seem like random gibberish to me. I certainly wasn't trying to attack your game in anway, or set you up or anything.

In full honesty, I have nothing but the deepest admiration and respect for you. I have actually learned alot about reinging in my own oversensitivity from you.

Chief, I doubt it's intentional, as you are one of the most strightforward people I know, but you DO have a habit of wording things the seem to directly refer to a past comment I made. I know you are just being supportive to Ghow.
