game 6 governor thread

Hello! You are the Governor.

Using your awesome powers of the pardon, you can choose to halt all lynchings during the day round.

If you wish to halt lynching, please post in here saying so BEFORE the day round is OVER.

If you do so, then no one will be killed during that day round.

Yay! I'm the Governor! I will be using exclusively Arnold Schwarzenegger or other famous actors/actresses turned Governor references in my replies.

I'll be back!

And for the heck of it... I'm going to do some nightly reflection.

Night 0

I have realized that there are approximately 14 different roles out of 20 players. That means that 70% of the players are a special role of some sort. This also means that I have 6 players who are just vanilla.

I know that these six are town folks plus the special roles. Looking at the numbers:

15% are Mafia
15% are Mob
70% are Townsfolk

Day 1 will most likely be a No Kill vote or No Vote day if the townspeople follow with tradition; however, I expect that there will be some who will go with the random vote or a random roll. The safer route would be the No Kill. As there will not be anything to go off of during the first day round; however, the only way to get information is to allow for someone to be lynched or allow for the roles to find out who is who.

This presents an interesting predicament. The Governor in the past hasn't been much use (I am going to check the previous game). If I come out early and say that I'm the governor, I'll instantly put a target on my back. If I don't, I run the risk of being killed off by Mafia or Mob.

My role is non-essential to the winning of the game at first; however, it may be possible to steer the game into a winning position from my role.

As a Governor, do I let the town lynch someone? Do I stop it? Do I get myself killed off?

@Yeano:

The Governor is a town-sided role that has the incredible power to pardon. He or she may choose to stop ALL killings from occurring during the day round.

I have to try this... but as Governor, I'm allowed to pardon, but wouldn't I also be allowed to allow all killings? So basically killing off several people off at once based off of town votes?

I realize this is a long shot, but the way it is worded, you would have to allow the no kill option off the table.... meaning we would kill everyone who has a vote at the end of the day or at the very least, the one with the greater majority.

In real life, Governors can sentence multiple people to die if they are on trial (which this is the the trial of public approval) so wouldn't this work?

Yes, I'm trying to make this role really bad-ass... besides, its one hell of a plot twist.

Nope. You either let the round run its course the way it would based on the voting system OR you prevent all day-round killings (with the exception of the Voodoo Lady).

I choose to halt all day kills.

*I choose to halt all day kills on Day 3 despite what I voted in the main Mafia thread... don't want there to be any misconceptions.

I'd rather believe Feral is the Mob/Mafia then white lancer; however, I believe he should have a chance to defend himself. We are not hurting at the moment.
