game 6 north arena

North Arena

The northern region of the arena is cold. Very cold. An expansive snowfield stretches out before you, with icy winds constantly buffeting the sweeping white mounds underfoot. Footsteps will leave a visible trail, but the falling snow and blowing wind will soon cover them.

The cold weather here has become severe and is an immediate threat.

-Center-
A small igloo stands among the snowdrifts, containing a wide variety of weapons and other items. There is enough room to reach in between the icicles framing its low opening and grab something, but you won't be able to see what you're taking. There's a rather sizable patch of yellow snow on its right side, and a large patch of blood-red snow a few yards to its left.

-North-
The snowfield gives way to the glassy surface of a frozen lake. There's no way to be sure how thick the ice on its surface is, but someone has laid a fallen tree across part of it so it must be quite strong in parts. On the other hand, though, there's a spot where someone smashed their way through the ice with a weapon. A pile of ashes sits where a campfire once burned.

-East-
A few white-tipped trees decorate the landscape. The snow thins out as the burned-out remains of the East Arena stretch ahead as far as the eye can see.

-South-
A lone path leads from the blinding white of the snowfield back to the blinding white of the Dais of Deities. The gods always have its marble surface polished before guests arrive. Especially if someone has the gall to bleed all over it.

-West-
The powdery white surface thins out to dry, craggy terrain leading toward the West Arena.

    The mighty Enthorp pays a visit to the igloo, then approaches one of the snow-crowned trees in the east and attempts to pull it from the earth with his bare hands. He's unsuccessful, but the tree's roots definitely appear to be losing their hold...

    Suddenly, a loud voice echoes through the air:

    "Greetings, brave warriors! Just delivering a bit of information for you all. The item caches and buff dispensers in each area can be used again and again - multiple times in one round, even - but you'll only get one item or effect per action used. Take note, however, that carrying too many items may be a hindrance, and that the friendly spellcasters may not appreciate it when someone takes advantage of their generosity..."

    Enthorp flexes his muscles, roars loudly, and proceeds to unearth the tree he loosened earlier. He pauses briefly to apply a mysterious potion, then begins to change shape into a werewolf! Snarling, he drags the toppled tree toward the frozen lake and uses it as a bridge - which the ice underneath is somehow thick enough to support - to reach its center, where he picks up...something.

    Enthorp embraces his artistic side, adding a sizable snow sculpture to the room. Pleased with his work, he rewards himself with a visit to the igloo before relieving himself on the igloo and heading west.

    "Well, can't say I didn't expect that."
    SDYoshi more or less figured out the whole arena. Through the pattern that he had witnessed (buff dispensers in the east and west, item cache in the south) he figured there would be an item cache in the north, as well. And he was right.

    SDYoshi tries to make small talk with his competition, but gets a pretty cold reception out in the snow. Feeling a little disappointed, he goes to investigate the igloo when suddenly, chiefsonny releases several arrows at the chatty warrior and strikes him square in the chest! Feeling accomplished, the man-at-arms slips away to the east while his victim stumbles south, looking physically and emotionally hurt.

    "That was quite the punch you threw at me earlier, I might have died had it landed." Ghowilo holds out his hand, "Truce?"

    There could be no truce. Only death. For Xhin that is. Ghowilo didn't even feel the slightest pang of guilt for his deception, he was fairly pissed off at this teleporter and wanted him dead, and if that meant playing nice he would. He reached towards Xhin's with his right hand, holding his spear vertically in his left such that it stood next to his body. As he went for the handshake he quickly pulled his left foot forward and kicked the bottom of the spear, which threw the bottom up and the top down. He caught it with the hand he was going to shake Xhin's hand with so now the spear was perpendicular to his body, right below his nipples. He then thrust the spear into Xhin's chest, aiming just above the heart trying to sever the mans trachea that he might choke on his own blood.

    (If Jo knocks him on the ground, just assume I stabbed him while he was down, though trying to accurately sever his trachea from that position would be difficult, so I would instead aim for the heart or lungs.)

    Ghowilo removes his spear from the man, and takes a step to the right. While Xhin fell to his knees (or rose to them?) Ghowilo had taken a step to the right, loosely holding the back end of the spear with his left hand close to his abdomen. He the sidestepped to the right slicing through Xhin's throat with the edge of the tooth.

    When Ghowilo had maneuvered himself to the left of Xhin (Xhin's right), he turned himself around, moving his spear to his right hand, to stand next to the foolish sorcerer. He grabbed a handful of Xhin's hair and yanked his hair back, cocking the mans head sideways forcing him to look at him.

    "Look upon the face of the man who would kill you."

    He let go of Xhin's hair, and as he did so turned his body counterclockwise (Towards Xhin, remember I'm standing to his right facing the same direction as him) and slammed his right shin into Xhin's face. As the man fell backwards, Ghowilo stepped over him, such that his right foot was on Xhin's left side and placed his spear into the man's mouth, prying it open. With a final thrust, Ghowilo plunged his spear straight through the man's mouth, he could feel the bones crack as he severed the mans spine. He then yanked his blade out and wiped the blood off in the snow, which was quickly staining red with blood.

    Ghowilo offers Xhin a truce, saying he'll forget their earlier altercation...but when Xhin remains silent, his expression changes. "On second thought," Ghowilo says, turning toward Xhin with spear in hand, "you're too unstable to be trusted."

    Before Xhin can make a move, Ghowilo flips his spear from one hand to the other and plunges it directly into Xhin's chest! T.G. LLight uses the opening to let fly with a powerful Split Punch, but Xhin appears too stunned by his impalement to feel a thing. Time then slows to a crawl as Jo Nathan follows up with a wild club swing that misses the mark, followed by a rapid barrage of weapon blows that draws blood!

    Xhin falls to his knees with a frantic look on his face and blood coloring the snow all around him, but Ghowilo isn't finished yet - he follows up with a wide swinging slash that strikes Xhin across the chest, then finishes the shocked warrior off by sending the tip of his spear straight down Xhin's throat. The slain warrior's skin turns nearly as pale as the snow; the pool of red around his body continues to spread.

    "At least now he'll be staying in one place," LLight concludes, lowering his sword. After pausing to check out the igloo, he heads south with Jo Nathan.

    Taking no part in the commotion, Lady Flare can be seen flickering in and out of sight as she rolls around in the powdery white snow before exiting south as well.

    Carried by the wind, some small embers and fragile bits of flaming debris rain down all over the room. They swirl wildly in the howling gales, posing no threat as they are swiftly extinguished.

    Oh hey. I won't attack you. In fact if you'd like I'll make my actions publicly if you do so as well.

    I think I got hurt leaving the forest. Basically I stayed there too long, gods got upset, and some kind of creature attacked me.

    Hahaha I see what you did there. Yes, that would be correct. Also, I'll also go ahead and tell you that it was Chiefsonny who stuck an arrow in Yoshi as a gesture of good faith, use that information as you will. I have to go meet up with some folks to play soccer and I don't know when I'll be back so... It may be possible for us to form an alliance with the enlightened one if you so wish. We've ran into each other a couple times and he seems generally friendly. Shoot me a notification and we'll talk.

    Lady Flare turns her attention to the central igloo as Enthorp Manthrob offers her a single flower. Seemingly unsure whether she can trust the the burly gentleman, Lady Flare reaches for her sword as a protective measure...only to catch a two-legged heel drop followed by a punch to the face that leaves her bleeding! Wincing from her defensive stance, she grabs the flower as Enthorp laughs and makes his way toward the western exit in order to prevent any escape...

    Expecting another attack from Enthorp, Lady Flare goes on the defensive by sending a barrage of distracting clones at him - and just in time, as the supersoldier hefts the phallic snow sculpture overhead and hurls it at her! She dodges and assumes a defensive stance while T.G. LLight strikes back for her, unleashing a blade of holy light that connects with Enthorp's right side! He then tries to follow up with a piercing sword strike, but misses as Enthorp flexes with a mighty grunt to help mitigate damage. Both Lady Flare and LLight prepare to strike once more, but their target gives them the slip out the west exit before they can make a move!
