game ix martyr thread

You are the Martyr. Your role is similar to that of the doctor -- once per night round, you may choose someone to save. If they were going to die, you will save them. Unlike the doctor, however, this will kill you.

Since using your role successfully means you do not survive for the duration of the game, you will get survival points regardless.

I think technically you can protect yourself, although it would be useless because you'd keep yourself from dying, and then die immediately afterwards.

LMAO, that would just be arkward for you to write!

On the other hand, if I die protecting myself, I get the survival points.

I think I will put on a bullet-proof vest that keeps bullets from killing me right off, but contains lead that slowly kills me via cancer.

As I pointed out in the thread, if the doctor chooses to save the same person you do, and they were going to be killed, you don't die.

Yes you do feral. Please remember, however, that you do not actually survive if you martyr for yourself, as the protection will go through first (I think it's the first in the priority list actually), while you'll die at the end of the night round.

Falsly claim to be the doc, to take the target off Lancer, whom I susspected was the doc (a suspicion you pretty much confirmed just now). There would be no doubt the Mafia would try to kill me, so I would protect myself. Hopefully, by the time I would die and be revealed as Martyr, everybody would have forgotten about Lancer saving himself.

Basically, give my life to protect the Doctor and earn my reward.

Dude, all I can say is that if Red and Dragon are telling the truth about 85, you are going to be dealing with a shitload of drama.

I'm going on the idea that 85 has been pulling our strings from the start. His actions in this town(refusing to accept that the GF might be a power role) seem to point that way.

Either way, it shouldn't be a problem to get CtR and Zanic to flip, and Thunder should also be on board. Yoshi and Majora pretty much confirmed their innosents in my eyes by agreeing with me. Once Kyon is gone, the truth shall be revealed. No reason my plan shouldn't go through.

Can't help but be curious to how Chief will side, though...

Have to throw 85 under the bus, but it no longer matters. My role is proven, so I can't be lynched as as a suspect, and by using my power on myself, I am guarenteed to "survive" even if the Godfather offs me.

So sorry, 85, but I chose to "protect" myself.

I'd say the sucsessfully using my power on myself is like faking my own death. I can't partisipate in the game anymore, but I get survival points with the survivors at the end.
