mafia game 9 thread 4 day 2 the town is on fire

Most of the townies slept well that night. Many were too tired from the previous night round to stay up another night. Though, as hard as they slept, they couldn't help but hear the sound of a massive explosion. Rubbing their eyes, they went out into the town square. Apparently, someone had shot a rocket launcher into the middle of the town where Helius was pretending to be dead. Bits and pieces of Helius, the Rogue townie turned Mafioso landed near the stunned townies. Out from the wreckage came a shimmering white figure. "Great", said Helius, "I'm a ghost!"

A large ticking noise was heard, and the town turned around. The Town Clock minute hand moved up by one. Strange, since the town swore the clock didn't work. But now they saw that there were ten places spaced around the dial, and the second hand and hour hand were still stuck at "0", while the minute hand was now a tenth of the way around the clock.

Below the Town Clock was some more wreckage. Clearly, the Trickster had struck again.. but who did they target, and who wasn't present at the town meeting?

hezekiah, the Townie stumbled out of his house, obviously late to the party. "What did I miss, guys?" as he said that, his throat constricted and he dropped to the ground, possibly dead.

Seeing the wreckage before him, Dragon in the Shadow dropped to his knees, saying "WHY OH GOD W--" up until the ghost of Helius slapped him.

Alright, one point for the Town--good work, Vigilante! Unless we lynch a Town-sided role today it should be safe for the Vig to take a potshot at hezekiah tonight, because there's no chance he's transformed into a Town-sided role since none of them have died yet but he still could have become a Mafioso or the Mad Scientist if he were a Rogue/Black Townie.

I've been thinking about the ratio with regards to how many points we have to get. There are 5 possible points from the original Mafia members (3 from normal Mafia, 2 from Godfather but only if he is lynched). An additional +2 points is available if we kill the Mad Scientist, which would bring us up to 7, but only 6 of those points are 'guaranteed' points for us if we catch all of them since we might kill the Godfather with our Vigilante. That means that out of the 10 regular Townies, at least 4 of them must be Red/Rogue Townies, and there are probably more than that. Not too many more, though, because you get similar results working from the Mafia's side: they have 5 special roles they could kill, with an additional +2 points possible for killing the Mad Scientist, so they'd need at least 3 of those Townies to be Green Townies.

Where am I going with this? Not sure yet, but it's probable that the ratio of good Townies to bad Townies is somewhere close to 50-50. I do have a question for Xhin, though: Helius was an additional Mafioso, but did a Red Townie take his place when he died anyway?

Also, we should continue to follow the strategy of not having all of our players post in this day/night cycle. That helped the Mafia miss their intended target last night, which puts us in the lead for now.

Also, I suggest being wary of Dragon. About half of the people who can be insane are Mafia-sided (since the Psychiatrist is immune) and we can be reasonably sure he's not the Cop which narrows it down further.

They temporarily become poltergeists. Either that or Dragon is so insane that he imagined it.

No. The only replaceable roles are the four original mafiosos and the five original townie special roles. The one exception is that if the Trickster is killed, a Mafia Investigator takes their place.

Why hasn't the psychiatrist treated Dragon yet? o_O Also, just because he's looney does not make him a bad guy, just about any role can be insane.

So I guess we wait on Yoshi for a verdict. Let's hope he got someone guilty this time.

Do you mean that the player who was the Trickster becomes the Mafia Investigator, or that the Red/Yellow/Rogue Townie that takes their place becomes the Investigator?

Also, just because he's looney does not make him a bad guy, just about any role can be insane.

Townies cannot be insane apart from the Yellow Townie, and the Psychiatrist cannot be insane, so that means Dragon is automatically ruled out of being well over half the Town. We also already have a good idea of who the Cop is and I have a few suspicions about other power roles, so the odds are in favor of Dragon being Mafia. I'd suggest a check of him tonight. Or maybe of Trever--something about him is a little iffy this game.

Odds are our Cop is silenced today since he wasn't yesterday, so we probably shouldn't wait too long on him today.

Before we keep trying to figure out who Dragon is we may want to find out if it even makes any difference after the post he made on Day 1

Agreed. I've spent too much time checking Mafia posts on Mobile, which is quite an eyesore. >_<

When did Dragon say that? o_O I have never been a fan of killing people for NOT playing enough anyway. Besides, if you wanted to kill someone for not playing, that'd be Teskein. She hasn't made a single post the entire game.
