Modfarming

Basic Stuff

  • Heavily simplified text-based farming game. Similar mechanics to space farmer but doesn't use Aphelion or complex skeins or anything so should be considerably easier to program.

  • The time system is session-based. Actions of all kinds take time and wind the day down and actual farming mechanics happen with the onset of new days.

  • Has the genetics system and lite processing capabilities to make the game mechanics more interesting.

  • Crops are procgen and probably pull from the archetypes I'm slowly building in lachesis.

  • There are work-based maintenance mechanics that can be upgraded with automation, which is unfortunately expensive.

  • Crops have humidity/ph/soil(sand/loam/clay)/temperature requirements and these have to be factored when placing plots together because adjacent plots can't be super different from one another.

  • There are procgen bonuses that can be gained by planting sufficiently different plants together in the same plot. The actual mechanics involve plants having some collection of traits and the bonuses are better the more the overall diversity of traits is.
