You are The Dragon.

You may kill a target each night (except Night 0). However, if you are targeted for a kill, your fate lies with the feared power of the Wizards' Unlucky Coin.

Actually, your role was actually based on:

that was what I figured, but too predictable imo~

And all due respect to the guy but he just isn't kawaii enough c:

I dunno, man, I think he was the one who invented kawaii

It may also have something to do with the fact he's actually Chinese and not Japanese {:P}

it's a total shutout: kawaii 5-0

He also can't run a three-second 50m dash or vertically bisect a waterfall from the base up. I have not backed the honorable Kuzuryuu clan without sound reason.

also I just found the timing of the role funny because I'm reading that series right now

so here's a question: when describing the role earlier, I believe you said that a failed attempt on my life would be reported without my name attached to it. Will the person responsible remain anonymous as well? Like, I "sense danger" and dodge a bullet from "an unseen attacker" or something, at which point I'd still be alive but whoever came after me will know my role.

I was going for what you are describing, yes - so potentially if you survive the first attack, they could attack you again, but both you and whoever will remain anonymous in the main thread descriptions. Letting you know their identity would make your role even more controversial and overpowered. You're already a suped-up version of the Vigilante.

So, gonna use your ninja skills tonight good chap?

Yeah, that was what I assumed but I wanted to check. Otherwise vengeance.

I do have a vague suspicion or two, but nothing so much as to make me get all Tales of Vesperia on their asses at this early stage. Because single-handedly killing innocent people by accident is wrong. And bad. There should be a new, stronger word for killing. Like badwrong, or badong. Yes, killing is badong. From this moment, I will stand for the opposite of killing: gnodab.

also, hypothetical: can I attempt to kill myself in the middle of the night, survive by coin flip, and in doing so achieve a state of enlightenment?

I guess you could in a hypothetical situation, but isn't that a bit of a risk?

totally, but it'd be badass if it worked (y)

You'd be like:

"Hey I should kill myself! And then hope I save myself from myself!"

I think my right hand could beat the left one in a fight.

Interesting start to Day 2...I've got thoughts to sort through but before I can do that properly I've got a question that I think stems from the fact that this is my first game. So I was hoping it's not out of line to (and please correct me if I shouldn't) ask in private for clarification. - I hesitate to bring it up in the main thread lest I possibly bring undesirable attention to it.

In flipping through some Mafia topics to see what the game is like befpre signing up, I've seen "notes from the Governor" like the one in the Day 2 topic. Am I right in thinking that these are "anonymous" communications actually written by the person with the Governor role?

Yes, they write them up in their own thread and request it to be posted in the main thread... technically anyone can do this though.

Oh, really? Interesting. Makes sense given that message you relayed from "A Higher Power" - I just hadn't seen anything like that from a role other than Governor or Journalist. Thanks for the info.

Eventful start to Day 2, I must say. I hesitate to speculate too much on my suspicions out in the open, though - since I can actually act on them without needing to convince anybody, I want to be careful about possibly incriminating myself. If I decide to unleash the Dragon, I sure as hell don't want to telegraph it.

That said, I do a lot of my best thinking in writing, so feel free to ignore this Note to Self:

Unless something comes up, I doubt I'll be making a move tonight. I haven't settled on a vote, much less a victim. Still a lot of innocents around and plenty of people who haven't given a lot to go on.

April 27, 2013
Pirate_Ninja

Better to play conservative rather than killing off innocents, I suppose.

Given the presence of power packs in this game, I figure their lives are probably more valuable than usual. A shot in the dark could really weaken us.

And given that Journalist piece, it's seeming more likely to me that Black Yoshi is the Commissioner. It'd explain him visiting someone last night and the claim that he was silenced. Assuming that "A Higher Power" (I refreshed the page while typing this and it's apparently Feral) wasn't bluffing and happened to get the potion pack, he might well need that to see Day 3.

Godfather down...that was the feeling I had around the time voting ended thanks to the late-breaking news, and it's a fine situation to be in. There are hints of innocence around at this point, but I don't see much to pick out guilt apart from the sidelines of the Helius/Dooku debate...and there are a fair number who didn't really weigh in.

Right now I'm most curious about chiefsonny, but not in a "sneak into his house and punch a hole clean through his torso" kind of way. Especially given the current numbers situation - every living Townie is another chance at an investigating power. I feel like he could well be either Governor or mafia, and I don't see a need to rush things by taking an unnecessary risk.

That said, I'm currently thinking No Kill for this night round: Ryuusui Seikuken style.

hyeh, thanks. Helps me keep my thoughts straight.

And since I'm trying to stay low-key it doubles as a record of the fact that I do care and am actually trying to play. Given that this is my first game (and the way I signed up for it (look)) I figured I could maybe have a little fun with assumptions.

April 28, 2013

I think it is a good way of keeping definitive track of your suspicions; definitely something the players could use in the game, every game.
