Anyway, grats White Lancer, you played all the cards right for a Mafia, and it makes me proud to see someone so conniving and bastardly.

Wanted to wait until the game was officially over before commenting, but thanks, Shadow! I think...I mean, conniving and bastardly aren't generally compliments, but they're good traits to have in Mafia. :P

I'll play again. I think it's unfortunate that the last round got a little nasty, but that's how it happens sometimes. I apologize for whatever part I played in that--I was just trying to play the game.

By the way, out of curiosity, who was the "sneaky sneak" (nice word choice there) that the Host called out in the post below?

They're compliments in my book! I can't wait til a game where I get to play the Mafia, I'll have to pull every nasty trick I have in my book.

Nastiness is what makes the game fun, as well as getting too into it that you forget that its just a game. If you can't imagine yourself screaming in rage and terror while being dragged away to the lynching rope, then that takes away half the fun right there. Besides, I'm not particularly bothered about how the game ended, my expectations of chiefsonny weren't that high to begin with.

Congrats, white lancer. You played the game cleanly (if such a thing could be said about being Mafia). Sucks that the Town couldn't win this time, but hey, it's just a game, right?

Shadowwalked, you fool, *you're* the reason the townies lost. You lost your cool, and that made chiefsonny vote for you. You also stopped arguing, you should have continued on until white lancer gave up.

Anyway white lancer, that was an amazing game you played. Right under the radar. Kudos.

Also that was the most insanely lucky/unlucky game ever. I made myself a host soon after I died, and I saw the following:

  • Somehow I managed to resurrect the person who was killed by the mafia

That should have given us a lucky break, though...

  • The townies voted me out on round two.
  • The mafia silenced the Cop while everyone was asking him to step forward
  • The mafia then proceeded to *kill* the cop before he could reveal himself (and he was silenced the previous round)

That should have made the mafia win, but...

  • Helius incriminated himself while #85 was being targeted.
  • The viligante managed to luckily kill black yoshi

With only one mafia left, the townies should have won, but...

  • The vigilante killed a townie
  • Shadowwalked lost his cool and thus made chiefsonny vote for him instead of the sole remaining mafioso.

That was an amazing game, guys.

Well be do have something in common. Our expectations of each other.

You know, when I was a position of power in game #1, I recall winning. Give someone else responsibility, and they fuck it all up. Ohwell, c'est la vie.

Shadowwalked, you fool, *you're* the reason the townies lost.

I don't recall killing off an innocent in the night.

Really though, is it that hard to admit your position? I did it like the second round in the first game, and we won. I think he was just playing a cowards game.

You lost your cool, and that made chiefsonny vote for you.

I think it has already been established I was drinking last night.

Anyway white lancer, that was an amazing game you played. Right under the radar. Kudos.

I was dreading that someone would do that (Other than me), and before night five ended, I was trying to decide who out of Majora, Roxas, or White it would most likely be. White was the most likely Mafia, as Roxas was always targeted by #85 (Mafia) and Majora got two votes (Helius and Chiefsonny if I recall correctly).

    Why's the town mad?

We could have had such a glorious victory, had a certain someone not been a trigger happy vigilante.

Lol. I played an amazing Mafia game (I think... cept for that incriminating part), but I figured that I was on the short list... so what the hell, incriminate everyone! :) It seems to have worked out.

And in my defense, put yourself in my shoes. You're drunk at some ungodly hour in the morning, you get on gtx0 and see that the game you thought was over is still going on, and your prediction was only half right.

And then there are fucking duck words EVERYWHERE

    April 2, 2012
    Shadowwalked

Or make a post while they are drunk when people are trying to win a game.

I'll admit, I'm not very eloquent when I'm drinking.

But what I really want to know is, who did you target and why? I would have thought that you would have targeted me of all people, considering 'Roxas' and Majora were getting voted out by known Mafias.

White lancer was the only person who was being relatively ignored by the mafia as a whole. Something I noticed, but really didn't want to believe because I don't like having my predictions be wrong.

Well I'm done pissing in this sandbox.

You can keep right on posting about how great a player you are and calling out all the mistakes the other players made, but so everyone knows, I was going to vote for myself so the game would go into the night round with a 3 way tie and I could take white lancer out to at least show the townies I could get one right. This was possible because the vigilante goes first in the night round.

But you got diarrhea of the mouth and the rest is history.

To the townies I am sorry we lost. And it was me that cost us the game.

    Good luck next time.

The only mistake I called out was that you cost us the game. I don't recall saying anything about any of the other players, and I'm quite certain I was the first to compliment white lancer on his victory over me.

And if you knew white lancer was the person to kill, why didn't you do it? An attempt to hurt my
    feelings? I don't get it.

To the townies I am sorry we lost. And it was me that cost us the game.

Ohgod, this was literally the only thing I wanted to see out of this. Thank you for that, chief.

Thanks for the comments, guys! I had a good time pretty much all throughout. :)

As an aside, I don't think you can pin the blame for how the game goes on any one person. Everyone makes mistakes at one point or another, whether that's appearing so suspicious that the town votes you off instead of a Mafia member, or that your suspicions are off and you vote for someone who is innocent. Just how the game goes. Although if you want to blame one person for how this game went, I'm okay with shouldering that burden. ;)

@Xhin, the BCB thing was another twist that you should have included. It made the town lose a Townie, but it also changed the town's target from Roxas to #85. At the same time, #85 probably slipped up by targeting BCB in the first place--I suggested silencing him and lynching him, but that was only if we still hadn't found the Cop.

White lancer was the only person who was being relatively ignored by the mafia as a whole. Something I noticed, but really didn't want to believe because I don't like having my predictions be wrong.

I so wanted to be silenced at some point during the game! We were going to do it the first round, but Black Yoshi got on a little too late (he was busy for the beginning of the game), and most of the following rounds we were searching for the Cop and trying to keep him from talking.

    April 2, 2012

Thanks for the comments, guys! I had a good time pretty much all throughout. :)

It's the most fun when it's down to just a few people. Being a townie is such a boring roll for the first few turns. If you invest too much, you're targeted. But if you play your cards right, then you can get on and yell at people in a drunken fury. At least that's the lesson I took from all this.

That's what makes the game fun.

What exactly happens when your silenced, other than you not being able to talk? I'm pretty sure you could just fake it from time to time, while the silencer actually targets someone else.

Vote out on of your own to make yourself look good, and then call bullshit when the townie that was actually silences admits it. I believe that would work beautifully if the game was down to just a handful of people left.

    April 2, 2012
    Shadowwalked

To be honest, I'm surprised I managed to almost make the final round with how reckless I played Day Three.

    April 2, 2012
    `Roxas`

Black Yoshi actually did fake being silenced once. He silenced Hezekiah and then we killed him, but Yoshi hadn't posted at all that round so he just said he had been silenced. Not sure how many people noticed that, though, and chief was pretty confident he was Mafia so his days were numbered.

Shit that game made me mad.

First day, vote to kill *somebody*. Sitting there and giving the mafia first play isn't good imo.

First night, investigate #85. The damn godfather.

Second day, think #85 is innocent. Vote to kill Xhin, he's as good a guess as anyone (same logic as day 1).

Second night, I investigate Feral. He got shot. Grr. I get silenced. Grr.

Third day, damn you mafia bastards.

Third night, I have Yeano tell me my next investigation is a townie again. Having gotten that info, I spend some time typing up thoughts for day 4.

Fourth day, I'm dead. Damn you mafia bastards. Got lucky as shit, I wouldn't have spoken up day 3 regardless (since I had absolutely no useful info).

Well shiz. I rly screwed up lost round. Or at least didn't see it ending the way I thought.

Also @ Xhin, do you know how much heat I took for suspecting you, after you turned out to be the doctor? I mean, I was just suspicious of you being mafia, I mean sure I implied I was the cop as well, but that was actually only to help forward my goal of getting you lynched.

Sry for helping to lynch the doctor.:P

Just my thoughts on a few things from last game.

Knukles, I would have voted for you too.

However, I think the legitimately worst move from anyone came from Helius when he was like "I am mafia and so is LLight."

Just my two cents on "bad playing."

    April 2, 2012

Ya, I know you would have. Part of my goal was actually to speed things along, and make it more interesting to watch. Plus I suspected Xhin, so.

    April 2, 2012
    Knukles2000

@Yeano It was a poor move on my part. I will whole-heartily admit it. I thought about editing it, but by the time I posted it and thought about it, it was too late. If I had edited it, it would have seemed suspicious (that I wasn't telling the truth). Though, if I could convince everyone that he was... which is actually pretty easy for Llight since he makes it easy to peg him as Mafia... then I could kill off a townie.

@Chief Why didn't you kill me that night? I was curious about that because I half-way expected to be dead the next morning instead of being voted out.

Will not be playing this round. I'll be sitting out.

"@Chief Why didn't you kill me that night? I was curious about that because I half-way expected to be dead the next morning instead of being voted out"

Because during the night round after your claim that you and LLight were Mafia, I had already decided to take out Black Yoshi. I was at that point pretty sure he was mafia and almost certain he was the silencer based on the fact that as far as I could tell no one had been silenced during his inactivity.

    April 2, 2012

That was actually a pretty good move on chief's part. Helius was dead meat regardless, but it would have been harder to get Black Yoshi lynched.

I thought so as well. We had been planning for myself and Yoshi to lie low and hoping we could turn the vote around to someone else (especially with the Silencer still alive), but chief put an end to those plans. At that point I knew for sure I was going to wind up alone.

    April 2, 2012
    white lancer

That game always found a way to catch me off guard, that's for sure.

I agree that had Shadowwalked kept his cool at the end it might have turned out better for the town, but I also get that it wasn't exactly intentional. I think the biggest disappointment was that chiefsonny never really said anything in regard to his accusation, and I hope you didn't shoot me because I brought up the Black Yoshi vote :(!

Signing up for next game :).

    April 2, 2012
    MajorasMask9

Good game and well played, white lancer. I would have never guessed at players like Black Yoshi (who was a tool for not being active) and white lancer. I could tell by the way chiefsonny talked that he was hiding something so it was either that he was the last special role or mafia. You guys were wise to take out me and MegaMan9 near the end, leaving the rest of the unstables to fend for themselves. That really played in your favour. As for Shadowwalked, he acted as I'd expect him to with the type of person that he is... I didn't bother reading too much into the final round since I lost interest as soon as I died.

I wanted a post where all the dead can talk, like some sort of afterlife. It has to be anonymous until the game is over though, because you could potentially reveal game sensitive information in your death and it would be a good idea to minimize out of game talk where possible or at least discourage it.

That being said, I won't have another week like that for another 3 weeks because I won't be working remote this time and therefore would not have put the vested interest to play like I did last game, but what the hell, sign me up.

    Mafia cop investigations game 4:
    N0 investigated Majora, guilty.
    N1 investigated Roxas, guilty.
    N2 investigated Hezekiah guilty.

    Original post:

I also would have been really surprised if MajorasMask9 was mafia. He was the only person I was convinced who was playing as a townie. The leverage Doctor Xhin gave me in the first round was a play in my favour because I could more easily convince people to side with me. It's also not my fault I talk like mafia despite not being mafia in any game, ever. It's good to know for next game because you'll probably lynch me regardless of role.

"and I hope you didn't shoot me because I brought up the Black Yoshi vote :(!"

    No.

If I recall I decided to shoot you because you were the last one to vote in that round for Helius after there were already enough votes to take him out. I thought that if I was a mafia member that's what I would do to make it look like I was a townie. Since if you were Mafia, you would know he was to and there was no way to save him.
To be honest. It was a hard choice to make because I was not as sure as I would have liked to have been.
    I'll play again.

I like this idea. It might help take some of the sting out of being killed early.

The leverage Doctor Xhin gave me in the first round was a play in my favour because I could more easily convince people to side with me.

That was one of our biggest problems the entire game--having you able to say whatever you wanted without being at risk of being voted off. I actually originally wanted to kill Xhin off the first night, as I suspected he was a special role, but we ended up going after you. In hindsight, that would have made the game much easier for us.

Agreed @ the idea of a post for dead people to come tgterher and talk about the game. Sort of similar to the first game where I kind of just hijacked one of Knukles' posts. Would give people something to do once they died, and its not like it would give the town an advantage if this post was restricted to dead people.
