roadmap for today the weekend should have a limited alpha by monday

Posted December 7, 2013 by Xhin

It ended up being a very busy week, so I'm going to work on GTX0 over the weekend instead.

My current task is to take what I've already programmed (most of the view a post page) and refactor it with the database management script I finished programming last weekend and jQuery. Doing this will speed the overall process way up, as well as making the revamp more efficient and less broken.

What I'd like to get done by the end of the weekend is the basic view a post/view a forum/edit post functionality (maybe even familiar faces). The top header stuff will be there but won't work fully because I left my previews on my old computer (still at work).

I'll then launch it as an alpha for the week so you guys can test it out and get used to it. So in a roundabout way it will sort of be done before 2014.

One major thing I want to do is to make the basic template responsive so it works well on tablets and smartphones. I'll probably get James to help me there.

Probably next weekend (or throughout the week), my plan is to get the top header stuff working and the new permissions system integrated so the revamp will be *almost* as functional as the current site.

After that I'll start hitting the new features, which will probably launch when the revamp as a whole launches unless I need some beta testing. I'll make the nostalgic mode area of the site last, since there's no point in adding it while the old site is still current.

Anyway, if all goes well you guys will be able to use the revamp to some extent by Monday.
