site roadmap

Posted October 28, 2015 by Xhin

I've been taking steps to remedy the problem of gtx0 work not being nearly as fun as it used to be. I have a lot of goals and expectations, but really the lifeblood of the site has always been how much I've enjoyed building and tweaking things.

I've found a lot of success elsewhere in my life by changing my perspective on things as fun and interesting rather than hard work and successful. I just had to really accept that about myself and figure out that it's way easier to change my perspective than it is to be disciplined. For me at least.

Anyway, here are some things I've been planning that I'm excited about:

  • Making more roadmap posts!

  • Project Eve. I'd like to have at least the first part of this launched on Halloween. It's a few different features that will make this site interesting for a little while. Like the old days!

  • Adventure Automation update -- An update to the adventure game that makes it about 90% automated. This means that host inactivity (or even player inactivity in some cases) won't cripple the game anymore. Also some various features and upgrades courtesy of NIFE.

  • More aesthetic revamp stuff. For the sake of sanity I'm going to make these pretty minimalist and tack on upgrades later (this worked very well for the MyCard update).

I should be able to roll out the rest of the revamp pretty quickly since I'm going to be focusing on function and interface. A lot of features will be reworked into some kind of mold, others will be replaced entirely (like notifications turning into a stronger PM system).

The overall goal is to make the site sane and looking a lot better -- I can then Jumpstart the advertising and work on more interesting ideas simultaneously.

Think of it more as streamlining the existing site than creating an entirely new platform. There will be some of that, but much of that will come later.
