vegas 1 night 0 the town gets a bedtime lecture

Welcome to Vegas Mafia! This game plays out like a normal mafia game, but the actions are smoother and there are a couple of twists and mini-games to keep you company.

Let's first take a look at our players:

I tried to keep this game simple and close to vanilla mafia. I seem to have failed. :P Let's look at our new roles!

Cowboy -- A vigilante that can only shoot three times, but can shoot at any time, overrides any action other than a doctor-ish save, and can even shoot multiple times in the same round.

Dirty Cop -- Not really a cop, just has a badge. They can also give their badge to the player of their choice.

Jack -- A Jack of all trades that has a Warrant (lets them check someone's guilt), a Vial (lets them save someone), a Gun (lets them kill someone), a Vest (keeps them from dying once), and a Mushroom (???).

Bankrupt Sensor -- A sensor so good he can even tell if the godfather voted for a lynch! However he can only use his sensor powers twice per game.

Rioter -- Anytime he votes for someone, anyone else that jumps on his bandwagon becomes a double-voter as long as their vote matches his.

Corrupt Mayor -- Can act like the governor in the day, or can stop all night town-sided actions in return for saving the person of his choice. Sort of like a traitorous doctor. He cannot stop the Cowboy however.

Blackjack Dealer -- Just an ordinary mafioso. He can turn players into Gamblers though and has access to their thread.

Shady Detective -- Can investigate the roles of two people all game.

Back-alley Doctor -- Can save the target of their choice -- but can only do it twice per game. No, they don't have to save mafia!

Pimp -- Mafioso that can convert prostitutes. He can also choose a prostitute to die in his stead (they can escape or hooker him though).

Newcomer -- Has to guess who a mafia is to be able to come into the mafia thread as a normal mafioso. Otherwise, is just a Traitor.

Undercover Prosecutor -- Someone hidden in the midst of the mafia. They win if the mafia does, but they gain extra points if they get the mafia to lynch the targets they are given. The mafia gets their points if they get them killed however.

Mini-games?

Every day round, a "Dinner Date" is chosen between two players. Town-sided players get a gun that they can choose to use to shoot the other player. Mafia don't get one.

There are four other mini-games. Each of you belongs to one of them, but can get converted into more as the game progresses. You can also play two of them while dead.

Mini-games affect the game indirectly. They can be useful in the same way OOG is useful, and they can also grant special powers briefly.

Drug Dealer -- Sells Drug Addicts their drugs. Can choose between three different grades. They lose money if they offer the best drug all the time, but gain it if they offer cheap or mid-grade drugs. But then they can lose clients. So there's strategy involved.

Drug Addict -- If you get the best grade of drug you get a random ability for the round, which is either (Bulletproof, Kill someone with your bare hands, gain access to private information but in a really trippy way). If you get mid-grade nothing happens, and if you get cheap grade you get silenced for a turn.

Gambler -- Vote on who you think will die next. Gain a point for guessing correctly.

Hooker -- Either escape (because the Pimp can get you to die in his place) or stay and use hooker abilities on a player.

Minor NIFE Changes

  • Special abilities now have their own dedicated drop-down box or checkbox. Please use them if you want your actions to count!

  • Actions look a little snazzier.

  • People-based actions are based on players who aren't dead.

  • If you want to do a No Kill or a Not Voting, please use the second box. I know it's confusing but it will have to work until after I can get NIFE configured to support extra options in the drop-downs.

  • Random voting is temporarily broken. Sorry! Use ~(roll)~ if you want to get a game-seeable random vote.

  • Your inventory/roles/etc are up at the top of the forum. If one of them grants you access to a thread you can click it and go to the thread.

  • I know Mobile looks terrible. It does however work.

    Improvements to these issues will be coming throughout the game, although I'll be focusing on improving my hosting experience first.

    Conclusion

    That about covers it, except oh this is NIGHT 0, so no killing is permitted (not even you, Cowboy.). You can however use your other nightly actions.

    Day rounds should take (2) days, while Night Rounds will take 24 hours. It's probably a good thing that I'm starting the game at 10pm because I won't be able to make updates to the game during the mornings.
