The "Core Revamp" is the first stage of the Revamp. It's more of a back-end rebuild than anything else. Here's what it will feature:
A much, much better back-end. Easier to maintain and add new features for. Probably some speed boosts as well.
A bunch of extraneous features will be cleaned up or otherwise integrated in a sane way.
The site will look like a cleaner, more consistent version of the current site.
Throughout my various aesthetic rehauls there were certain files I didn't touch because they were too hard to work with. So the site has a very inconsistent appearance.
Hopefully less bugs and glitches because of a unified framework.
A new staff/permissions system which makes more sense given the direction the site has gone in.
Some various new features that I find time to work in.
At the time of launch, there will be about half a day where the site shuts down so I can migrate everything over. This will include a lot of database reconfiguring. Future revamps, fortunately, will not require this step.
After this, I will work towards the "Early Revamp", which will feature:
Two new themes (a more retro one and a more modern one)
Various new feautres/bug fixes as needed.
After that I have a bunch of projects I've had planned out since Spring 2013 for making the site more interesting to regs and newcomers alike. These updates form the basis of the "Full Revamp".
