Basis

  • Measures the digits between existing digits in whole numbers. It does this by defining digits mathematically in a loop and then altering the increment to 1/tet. Standard digital representations are 1-tet but I'm interested in 2-tet xendigits just to explore the space and maybe other things later on as well.

  • The tool lets you specify a number as well as a tet.

  • Submitting will render the number and its digital representation, with xendigits represented as a color where the interval dictates the color (so for 3-tet you'd get the hues 120, 240 for the xendigits).

    The layout is the controls up at the top and a monospaced font that renders the values -- each new one is prepended on a new line. Some control should also clear the render area.

    Applications

    I suspect (but haven't proven) that xendigits are bijective to regular ones in some capacity -- if true then this is basically a lightning fast form of encryption, which would be useful in the library of babel project. Granted it also has to be reversible.

    I'd like to see how xendigits alter the manifold project as well -- my intuition is that the pattern is continuous with xendigits since it's a fractal with normal ones anyway.
