Basic Stuff

  • Has some neptopia mechanics but is largely a very simplified fishing engine with the anarchy system gameplay loop.

  • Areas are semi-handcrafted -- there's definitely a procgen layout that connects fishing spots but the parameters of the skein are limited and also the skein isn't big.

  • Different areas have to have access bought to them. This unlocks new fish possibilities.

  • There should be some kind of real-time mechanic on the actual fishing to make that aspect funner and more targetable by rods. Maybe something similar to the combat system described elsewhere. Beyond that though there's still a lot of waiting.

  • Like in the grand aquarium, fish have time of day and weather preferences, however the time system isn't based on real time and is closer to neptopia mechanics where actions cause time to pass and sleeping resets the day.
