The Evervamp

yet another roadmap

Posted July 22, 2015 by Xhin

It's good to have a roadmap every now and then.

There's a clear end goal in sight for the next batch of upcoming changes. It will be enough to get some advertising campaigns set up while I prepare for other revamps.

Here's all the components of this "Marketable Revamp":

  • Gambit, a task management/reporting system (Almost done, ~1.5 hours according to Gambit)

  • MyCard / replies upgrade -- Makes the site a little cooler and starts really revamping the feel of it (14 hours according to Gambit)

  • Stream Feature v1 -- A cool system that offers a lot of features that make this site unique or at least competitive. This should be ready to start preprogramming and tasking it out.

  • UI upgrade -- A massive set of feature upgrades / user interface changes. This has been a long time coming. Just a few areas left to plan here and then I can start tasking it out.

  • Classy -- refines the textures and overall theme of the site so it looks great. Might be some UI tweaks in this stage, but I want to keep the site customizable and usable, unlike the old Revamp previews.

  • Mobile upgrade -- Makes the site not look like crap on phones / tablets.

There's some analytics/campaign stuff I want to do after that, but it will be real light in the programming/planning departments.

Basically this Revamp is now in a stage where it's organized and very close to bring fullY tasked out. When that happens I'll be able to give a very realistic ETA.

Future revamps and Evervamp components are also crystallizing. There will be one for improved content and one for NIFE for sure, these have both gotten out of brainstorming and into early planning. Both of these offer quite a few advertising opportunities.

I guess the takeaway from this roadmap should be:

  • Revamp projects are now very organized and advertising-driven.

  • The current Revamp is very close to being fully planned and split into tasks.

  • It is moving out of the "lots of planning, not much to see" phase and into the "lots of changes, very rapidly" stage.
